Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minigames.19687/
++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Any game type:
/mg set <Minigame> paintball
(Will list the information you need) So you can have a deathmatch or team deathmatch game (even CTF) with snowball (paintball) damage.

Posted Sep 11, 2013Would love to see more game-modes coded in.
Gun Game - players starts with no armor/fists. on each kill you get upgraded to a better set of gear till you reach diamond. the first person to reach diamond is vs everyone else
Hide & Seek - 1 person randomly picked at start. Everyone else on the other team. Seeker kills a hider, that hider becomes a seeker.
Territorial Control - Regions which serve as a "control" area. The longer players stand in the region they give their team points. It could be used for battlefield3 style conquest games or king of the hill.
Bomb Arena (counter strike) - Team A has a bomb (TNT). Team B has to defend the bomb site.
Attack/Defend - Capture the flag but in attack/defense mode. Team A has a flag and has to bring it to a capture point that Team B defends. Team B earns points the longer they defend the capture point.
Horse Race - add an option on "race" minigame to spawn a player on a horse/saddle at the start. Add support for a tripwire hook & string to trigger the end of the minigame.
Parkour - I already using sp for parkour but it would be nice if every time you died with in a parkour sp game is that you didn't die but just warped back to the start point. It could be added as a set option for sp games.

Posted Sep 10, 2013Right-e-o, Infection tutorial tomorrow (text only). I'll do some more as well, I haven't really had the time to do some video tutorials lately either. I've also been slowly updating the Wiki with more information, you will need it in the upcoming versions (not so much the next one) as theres a large change to the bukkit code that has changed the way items can be set in loadouts and rewards, along with potion effects and such.
Over time you will no longer be able to use item or potion IDs, this isn't my doing, its a change with Minecraft (snapshots) that Bukkit has accounted for early, therefore I'm attempting to implement these changes as well. Don't worry though, I am making simple ways to add things as before.
News on the 1.6 version (Minigames 1.5.3). Not too much has actually changed in this update. Code rewrite for a major part of it, that took up most of the time (for implementing future things easier). A couple of requested small features have been added, such as enderpearl use. A few bug fixes for some pretty major bugs that have been happening occasionally as well.
Main holdup at the moment is that I'm finding problematic bugs here and there, but I think it should be ready to go in a couple days or so.
TL;DR: Changes woo!

Posted Sep 9, 2013hey, i made a minigame, and i de-moted me and de-opped me so i could get hurt by lava, i played it with a friend, and i didn't get hurt.... i somehow fixed it and we were able to die in the lava, so i made a 2nd arena and now both are having it where no one dies in lava.... i looked though all my plugins and none of them are blocking lava damage or anything with lava.... help?

Posted Sep 9, 2013Is there an actual guide as to how to set up an infected gametype minigame? I can't seem to find out how to do it and I'm struggling with a few things. I've got a general setup for the game through TDM setup, but I don't know what to do from there... Any help?
EDIT: After a great deal of digging on your github, I do believe I've found it!

Posted Sep 7, 2013Setting up a CTF minigame is quite easy. It's just like setting up a TeamDM with slight modifications. Create the minigame as a TeamDM type and do as follows. After you have created the minigame in the TeamDM form, use /mgm set <minigame name> scoretype ctf. This will set the minigame's scoretype to flag captures. Then, place the flag signs in the arena. One of them should say: [Minigame] <next line> Flag <next line> Capture <next line> Red
Another sign should red [Minigame] <next line> Flag <next line> Red
these flags should be on the back of the red team's side. Make the same signs again on the blue team side but replace 'Red' with 'Blue.'
