Metrics Collection
This plugin uses bstats for metrics collection. The information sent to bstats.org is completely anonymous, publicly viewable, and includes the following metrics:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true, or by editing this plugin's config.yml and changing "metrics_level" to 0.

It is incendiary - sounds like lore needs an update. The ICBM spell and I think Meteor Shower use ghast fireballs, and of course any spell can be customized. It's the difference between LargeFireball and SmallFireball in the configs - so change it if you'd like :)
The idea with the fireball spell is to not be so destructive, and to be honest, if I could, I would disable the fire as well- haven't been able to get that to work though.

dtlTraders *should* actually work- I've got a lot of code specifically to make that plugin work.
Pretty much any other plugin, though- you need something special to make that work, or maybe to wait until 1.8. I'll PM you.

Posted Aug 1, 2014I'm having an issue with the plugin. Whenever I place a wand in a chestregen chest it becomes unenchanted and whenever I place it in a dtltrader's inventory it loses its name and sometimes becomes unenchanted. Is anyone else having this problem, and if so how can I fix it? Do I need to download an older version or something?

FYI: I think that worked: I added one of the potter spells in the main "spells.yml" and customized it to use a different item ID. Seems to work.
As you mentioned, this should allow me to keep up with any updates to the original Potter spells.

If you want to keep the worlds PVP-denied, but still have spells work, you have several options:

I'm feeling like a broken record on this one- short story, Craftbukkit and many plugins will attempt to wipe Magic data whenever possible. I will PM you.

Kind of the same thing as above, but the short answer is no. If something (usually another plugin or creative mode) wipes the wand data, it's gone. The data is attached to the items themselves, there is no backup. I will PM you as well.

Posted Jul 30, 2014Is there a way to restore a wand that somehow gets turned into a normal item in survival? Some of my users are logging in and finding the wand item unenchanted and not working anymore. Is there a command I can run to re-enable it if this happens. So far I have been just making them a new wand but every wand is unique in the spells it gets so there is no way I can remake it exactly like it was for them.

OP doesn't always mean complete bypass. What spells have you tried casting? Do you have multiverse, worldguard or factions? In a no-pvp area? Give me some more information and I can probably help you out!

That's right! At least, I think that ought to work :)
For what it's worth, for the PotterWorld server I don't actually use the "add-example" thing. I just take all the files in the "potter" folder and stick them in the main plugin folder. Then you can just edit to customize at will.
I mainly do this because we do a lot of "on the fly" tweaking there- balancing, SFX, etc - and it's a lot easier to just edit spells.yml and do "/magic load" in-game, versus having to add "overrides" to an empty spells.yml for anything we tweak, then remember to move those to the main config when done. Kind of a personal choice I guess :)
But, if the thing you suggested works, that would mean you can keep up with the updates to the spells, but also have your customizations.. which may work out well.

One other question: if I wanted to customize one of the Potter spells, I would do that with the main "spells.yml" file, and not edit the spells file in the potter folder?

Ha! Well, there's no "destroy all wands" command per se. What I'll often do is "/cast stash", stash the ones I want to keep, then "/clear -a" or "/clear" (Essentials/CommandBook).
Otherwise, you can unenchant a wand with "/wand unenchant", which turns it into a normal item, but doesn't destroy it.. you can just burn it or toss it on the ground at that point.

Cool! I'll look into that- there's a "fill" flag on the Elder wand that's supposed to auto-fill it on creation, but maybe it gets lots when combined with the Survival Elder wand, which does *not* have that flag.
The 58 spells you got sound like just the survival Elder wand, so I think that's what happened there.
