Metrics Collection
This plugin uses bstats for metrics collection. The information sent to bstats.org is completely anonymous, publicly viewable, and includes the following metrics:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true, or by editing this plugin's config.yml and changing "metrics_level" to 0.

Posted Jan 3, 2015Hello, I appreciate the previous help I was given. I need a tiny bit more help with permissions, rather then issues with the plugin.
I have multiple worlds on my server, so naturally the Portal spell would be screwed up, and not work as a normal portal. How can I switch the location to 'world_nether' rather then whatever it may be set to now, as it doesn't work.
How can I allow people to use the Force spell, as of now, it's for only op'd players.
How can I remove Gather completely? It causes huge safety issues for people.
How can I make Phase teleport you to "another dimension" because as of now, it doesn't work. I assume it is the same issue with netherportals.
Also, how can I give myself a wand with everything possible?
As for the last issue, with wands being broken after you leave: It was infact MV-INV, there is a setting that saves all the data for players just in case a server crashes, which is what was doing this.

The only config changes I've made were:
enable_block_populator: true keep_wands_on_death: true
So nothing should be affecting it.
Now the default configs were originally generated several months ago, but I'm sure your plugin overwrites the defaults anyway so that shouldn't matter either.

Thanks! Those look like EffectLib issues- do you have customized configs, by chance?
The problem there is I haven't figured out how to do the block and item specific particles in 1.8. I thought I had just stopped using them for now, but it seems not- do you happen to know which spell that was?
There also seems to be a couple other non-fatal config issues- the "BUBBLES" particle should be "BUBBLE", I think (need to double-check). Water and lava are, unfortunately, no longer allowed as inventory items- so I've changed those icons in a few places, too. It looks like I may need to do a second pass check on all of this, unless you've got some of these defined in your own configs?

Hm- that seems weird, can you try 3.9.1, maybe? There's no reason it should be crashing :(

There are no perms for saving data or anything like that- MV Inventories could certainly be screwing with things, though, unfortunately. I have had issues in the past with it not properly saving wand data when swapping inventories around. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be an issue on your other server, though!

I appreciate the essentials shop help, it is infact case-sensitive.
No players have access to GMC, or even a world with creative. I tried reinstalling the plugin to no avail.
I have Multi-Verse inventories and Coreprotect. Those are the only plugins that really handle players.
I made a complete copy of my server, and switched it to my personal server, the Magic plugin worked flawlessly. One thing that is different, is the fact that i'm op'd on my testing server. Are there permission nodes to the saving of data?

For the essentials sign, try just "wand"- I think it's case-sensitive.
The other issue sounds kind of weird- especially if you have another server with the same setup! Nothing special happens on logout- wand data is stored in the item itself, not with the player.
So this sounds like it *might* have to be some other plugin you have- maybe something that saves inventories in some special way on logout? Or, are your players using creative mode?

Posted Jan 1, 2015The ticket website is down, so I'll ask it here, I hope that's alright. When players leave the game, their wand is removed from usability. The name is still there, but you can't open the wand inventory or do anything with it. PLEASE help.
Version: 3.9.1 Server Info: Spigot 1.7/1.8 Client Hack. Other info: It runs flawlessly on my other server, all ranks have the .use permission. The other server is an exact copy of my main server.
Also: I'm unable to use the essentials sign shop, i'm able to use '/i wand' but I'm unable to use '[Buy] 1 Wand $200'
Other: I tried 'Magic' / 'Magic_Wand' / 'Wand'

When you use buildtools to get the spigot jars, it also gives you the craftbukkit jar. I wonder if then shopkeepers might work

Ah, yes- quick select was "shift+click" in that version, I changed it a while back. I'd recommend you upgrade to 3.9! :)

The only public server I run is the one on here, and I don't have a public 1.8 server yet, mainly because Shopkeepers. I'm thinking of just completely restarting, possibly without it.
dtlTraders should still work fine with Magic, though I haven't tried getting that running in 1.8 yet.
The issue with Shopkeepers is not an issue with that plugin exactly (I also use StarterKit, it has the same issue). These plugins don't work with Magic and never have, except if you were running my custom CraftBukkit build with custom item data support.
Unfortunately due to the way we now have to build Spigot, making a custom build is much more difficult- and they don't currently support the OS I develop on. If all of this seems more complex than it used to be, it is. If this bothers you, direct your ire towards Wolvereness since this is all pretty much his doing.
Anyway, I'll have to look at the other issues- note that the wand FX upgrades only add colored "bubbles" and other particle FX, not sure if that's what you expect them to do.
The default configuration of "Phase" should just take you back and forth to the nether. You need the custom config (available in MagicWorlds' github repo) to set up the "Other Side" phase spell.
The randomized wands may be confusion- there is no longer a default wand named "random". You can get a random wand with this command: "/wand default(30)" - that'll be a random level-30 wand.

That right-click thing is weird, that's the old behavior, maybe Magic 3.7 and earlier...

Thanks for the bug list- some of those sound really weird, like not something that 1.8 should have affected. Please remind me- did you have all this running and working in 1.7, or is this a new Magic set up?
The Shopkeepers, unfortunately, never worked without a patched build of CraftBukkit- and I'm not really able to patch it anymore. This is the #1 reason I haven't updated my own servers, I need those SK's and at the moment I don't know if I'm going to be able to get them working again.

Posted Dec 31, 2014I found many other bugs with it. The wand tint color things don't work anymore, wands don't work with shopkeepers, randomized wand doesn't work, and phase doesn't work (I have magicworlds too). Thank you for fixing the other errors.

It's unlikely that is fixed, I didn't do anything special about it. I actually kind of forgot!
The two public Magic servers are still on 1.7.9/1.8 protocol hack Spigot. I am running full 1.8 Spigot on my HP server, but you can't currently get to that one.
Anyway, the glow thing was always a huge hack- it may not work out without some support from Spigot. It's a bit of a bummer because I've grown really fond of the "spell icons glow when ready to cast" feature I added a while back. I'll keep you posted on that.

Posted Dec 31, 2014Did you fix the problem with the shimmering of the wands and spells being gone? On the magic server all of these problems are fixed.
