Metrics Collection
This plugin uses bstats for metrics collection. The information sent to bstats.org is completely anonymous, publicly viewable, and includes the following metrics:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true, or by editing this plugin's config.yml and changing "metrics_level" to 0.

Posted Dec 3, 2014I got a question. I see this plugin is compatible with MythicMobs but just to be sure before i install it. Anyone know the mythicmobs will still use the ondeath lever pull fuction when one is killed by Magic ? Because im using MagicSpells now but its not responding.. thats why im looking for something else like this one :)

Posted Nov 10, 2014There is a bug while you upgrade the wand with the enchanting table. If you click it with the wand the wand disappears, plase fix SOON!!!
EDIT: sorry it was a my bug PS: can you please help me with essentials and crackshot? i'm trying to use your package essentials to add weapons to kits.

The /wand command is kinda complex :)
Fortunately it's really only for admins or for debugging, so hopefully it's not something many people on your server will need to know about.
Briefly, "/wand" will give you the default wand (the one named "default" in wands.yml).
"/wand <wandname>" gives you any other wand in wands.yml.
"/wand add <spell>", "/wand remove <spell>" Add/remove spells from your wand. These can also be used to add "material brushes" to your wand for engineering magic.
"/wand combine <wand>" will upgrade one of your wands by "adding" another wand from wands.yml to it.

Do you have questions about a specific command? Some of them are a little strange/complex, like "/wand override".

Do I have a Quests build on my build server? I probably should not!
That's not actually my plugin, I just helped test the plugin module stuff (for the Magic quests module) but it never really worked out to be honest.
I think that dev may have quit after the whole Wolverenessgate thing, but you ought to double-check to be sure. Sad state of affairs.

I was wondering if you could possibly upload another Quests plugin build to your build server. The current build I am using throws constant errors and is just about working.. Quite a lot is broken, like quest cooldowns, they reset when you log off

My webserver died (Maven, Jenkins, Dynmap, Website, MC servers, etc)- I've been trying to get it back up, but it may take me a little bit.

Blue_Blaze, I think you said it well. Yes, wands are not _at all_ meant to be balanced against a player not using a wand. It's no contest, and that is intentional. The best knight in the world stands no chance against even a novice wizard :)
That said, the "Potter" (Harry Potter) config is MUCH more well-balanced, and is 100% intended for a PvP environment- but the assumption is that everyone has a wand. Don't PvP someone with a wand if you don't have one.
My plan was to convert the default configs to be much more like the potter configs, when I get a chance.

Posted Oct 28, 2014Hey NathanWolf, great job on this plugin, I've really been enjoying it!
I think INSTANTOUT was talking about how it's relatively easy to get spells to let you do just about everything, and that provides a massive advantage over those who do not use wands. In a pvp environment, this would be considered to be overpowered.
However, I don't think this plugin was intended to be used in a pvp environment (other than adding basic protection capabilities), but rather as a fun addon for something more like survival. If you want to be using this for pvp, the plugin seems to be very configurable, and it's up to you, not the dev, to make it balanced for your server. Cut out spells that are OP, make wands harder to make if you want, but with all the configuration you should be able to balance the game on your own INSTANTOUT.
Also, as another thing to say, it seems your website is down as I can't access the spells page. I would really appreciate it if you would be able to fix that. =)

Works fine with 1.7.2 as far as I know, just like it says in the release notes. If you're having a specific problem, can you please provide details?

It works with Factions, no idea how that helps with it being "overpowered" or what exactly you mean by that, but Magic will respect Factions (and WorldGuard) build and PVP permissions.

I'm not sure what the future of these forums are, or Bukkit in general for that matter. I will continue to work on Magic as long it makes sense to do so, and I have time to do it.
For now, please see my CI server for builds- I assume nothing I submit here would get approved. I do label the official releases, and you'll find 3.8 there.
I will be working on setting up an independent web site for instructions and downloads in case devbukkit disappears completely.
Magic Arenas
You an also find a new plugin I've been working on - MagicArenas. It's a simple arena plugin, I developed it mainly for PotterWorld, but I think it could be generally useful anywhere.
It's got some Magic integration, and a cool scoreboard feature- I'll put up more information once I have that website going.

My initial hunch was right, and your configs are outdated. I'm sorry about that, too, I didn't realize I'd completely broken the "random" wand template.
Your best bet is just to update your MagicWorlds config.yml- you can just delete the config while the server is shutdown if your MagicWorlds plugin is up to date- or you can use the one from here:
