Loot
Requirements:
- KBPL
- If the version in the title is higher than the one on the 'recent files' list, then you will have to wait until bukkit approves the latest version since KBPL could be updated and have code that does not work with previous versions of the plugin.
What it does:
The title pretty much says it all! But to be a bit more detailed, Loot makes it easy to create chests with randomly generated loot. The best part? No commands. Oh did I mention that it adds random enchantments to armor and weapons and can spawn random potions? Yeah, that too. Its the perfect loot generator for custom dungeons and worlds with randomly generated schematics.
Features:
- Automatic Chest Regeneration Refills chests automatically using a list of items that you configure.
- Enchantments You can configure whether loot chests will spawn items with random enchantments, or you can specify the enchantments yourself.
- Potion Effects Same as the enchantments, but with potions.
- Item naming Specify a name for the items spawned in a chest! You can also configure the plugin to let it add a random preffix/suffix to enchanted items, dependent of the enchantments applied.
- Lore Add lore to any item for that true rpg feel!
- Books You can set the title, author and text of books generated!
- Colors You can set the colors of the names/lore/whatever of each item.
- Randomness A lot of the properties of any item can be randomized, including the enchantments applied, name, amount, data value, chance for it to spawn at all, etc.
- Redstone Force a chest to reset by powering the sign!
- Uses Soulbound You can download the soulbound plugin for added functionality! Visit the plugin page here.
How it works:
Important Notes:
- Requires KBPL
- The way bukkit names effects is different than the default minecraft effects, so here are some tables of the names you should use on the config file:
Enchantments
Potion Types
- You can find the color codes here.
Permissions:
- loot.sign.create - Lets you create Loot signs.
- loot.sign.break - Lets you break Loot signs.
- loot.command.name - Ability to use the command /loot name
- loot.command.reload - Ability to use the command /loot reload
- loot.list.x - Permission to open loot chests of x list
Requesting new features:
If this plugin is missing that certain special feature, bribe me and I will gladly work on it!
While I am updating and squashing bugs for free, working on new features requires time and everyone knows that time equals money.
I am however, open to suggestions that are directly related and crucial to the plugin.

Yes, been happening for the last few builds and I was unsure to as to why it was happening and no plugin errors. However, removing the plugin does stop the problem and the crashes.
Using the required plugin, still crashes.

Hmmm.... this error doesn't mention anything of my plugin but I'm assuming that the exception is caused by a plugin incompatibility. When the plugin runs alone with the KBPL, does it still crash?

Tried and test via removing the plugin and placing it back, seems to be causing the error.

Yeah just noticed. :P
Fixed, thought that a certain function from Bukkit dealt with this, but apparently that's not the case :/
@peppercoco
If the plugin just generated the config, then use the command '/loot reload' to load the generated config. About the sign not breaking, just a small error on my part. Anyways, fixed both errors in version 2.5.2 :)

Posted Feb 7, 2013Yeah, I just forgot to move the KBPL jar into the plugins folder... but I have another problem now it seems. I have the loot sign under the chest and i'm using your default common itemlist but it won't spawn any items in the chest. Any reason why?
And for some reason it won't let the op destroy the loot sign

Just an FYI, if there's already a config file for KBPL and once you update, it will not load the plugin. :P

I've uploaded v2.5.1. Hopefully this one fixes the problem but since I haven't been able to replicate it myself, I can't confirm it is fixed. Remember to download v1.0.1 of KBPL, it has a couple of changes and also remember that you can always download the latest version of loot through the link given in the KBPL page :)

Thats very weird, just tested it out and its working fine :P
Is the plugin activated at all? (you can test that by typing "/loot", an error saying "Syntax Error. type /loot help" should appear)
Or maybe you haven't downloaded the KBPL?

Posted Feb 6, 2013Any reason why the folder won't pop up in my plugins folder? I'm talking about the configuration file. I dragged the .jar over into the plugins folder and reset the server and it didn't come up, and after a few more trys still nothing. Any reason why?

Don't see anything wrong with the config, except that you're putting the data value '0' on all the items, which is completely optional. Anyways, that can't be whats causing the error. I can't track down the error because of the internal changes I did to the plugin with the recent update, so update and if the error persists, post it here so I can track down the bug.

It appears that one of your lists has an inheritance of itself or it inherits a list that then inherits the caller. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, post your config, so can spot the problem.

I'm glad you liked the idea :) I think a feature along those lines would be pretty neat :) But if it's too much hassle then don't worry :) Thanks for the reply anyway, keep up the good work ;)!

Should be fixed in version 2.5.0 :)
You can find the latest version here along with the KBPL (which is required now)

This is a nice idea, but unfortunately the new bukkit safeguard might make it difficult. Normally I would use spout to make this happen, but I think they might discontinue their work on bukkit because of the safeguard :(
I could see what I can do about it, but no promises :P

Its the item duration/damage/data value (depends on the item). For example, wool by default is white but by changing its data value, you can change the color of wool. On weapons, armor and tools it changes their current durability (for example, a sword that's about to break). It all depends on the item, so you should check the minecraft wiki for how the data value affects each item :)
