InstantMines
Instant Mines - A comprehensive mine customisation plugin. Current version: 1.3.0
InstantMines gives players the ability to create instantly detonating land mines. And allows server admins to customise the fuse length of TNT! Allowing for instantly detonating TNT. Provided it's pushed into a powered position by a piston.
InstantMines is my first Bukkit plugin. Whilst simple it's also light and hopefully useful to someone other than myself.
Usage
To make one a mine which has configurable block and player damage make a tower as described below:
- Top
- Stone Pressure Plate
- Any block of your choosing
- TNT Block
- Iron Block (Configurable)
- Bottom

The iron block is intended to prevent users from unwittingly creating an instant mine when simply trying to power TNT with a pressure plate from above.
To create instantly detonating TNT, which is pushed into a powered position by a piston, change the tnt.delay value in the configuration. 80 = default, 0 = instant. Example piston setups.
Any feedback is welcome.
Installation
Just pop the .jar in your plugins folder and restart/reload.

I'd love to panda but there seems to be a horrible bug which causes the client to disconnect when I allow wooden pressure plates. I seem unable to fix this. After hours of playing around, wood pressure plates still throws an error. No-one in #bukkitdev seems to be able to help either. Sorry panda.

Thanks, but since all the plugins going to R4+ so I'm going to switch back to the later builds. Thanks for taking the time to try it, though.
If you want to know, there were no error messages, but the plugin simply did not work (tnt did not detonate instantly).
I'm just curious - is this compatible with the 1.2.3 beta build? I like the plugin so much it is basically the deciding factor on whether I should upgrade or not.

Posted Mar 3, 2012Is there an error in the console? I have my client updated to 1.2.3, and I'm too tired to downgrade atm. I started up an R3 server and it loaded the plugin and responded to commands from the console properly. Unfortunately I can't test it from in game to find out what is wrong due to my client being a different version. I'll try tomorrow when I am less tired.

Posted Feb 29, 2012lol, I see. I'll add an immunity perm. I am also working on all instant TNT actually working, as it doesn't properly atm. A work around is using a piston to push the tnt into a position where it is powered by redstone.

Posted Feb 25, 2012just tried this out and found that it doesn't respect god mode. bam, dead admin. :P
Anyway, aside from that, it works great!
UPDATE: God mode in updated Essentials does work to protect against insta-death. :)

When I get round to it I hope to add customisable fuse lengths depending on the block next to, below, or above the block. So you could say, have default ticks on a fuse when it's above air, but instant when it's next to a diamond block. Or something similar.

Posted Feb 24, 2012Thanks for finally implementing all-instant tnt, you should add this to your description so that more people know about it.
Not only is this a great mod for making traps/landmines, it's an all-round useful TNT utility as well. I can see this being used for many other things now that it works with any trigger.
A must have in any server imo.

@Pandamatak The all instant tnt was the original idea for this plugin. When I looked into it however it seemed a bit too complicated to be worth it for my use (which is exactly what this plugin does). I plan to add a config file with lots of options including block types. In response to the wood pressure plate I encountered an unexplainable bug where the client disconnected when a wood pressure plate was used instead of a stone one. I couldn't understand this so just left it out. I'll try re-adding a wood pressure plate and ironing out the bug. And finally, it is available just my file hasn't been accepted by a moderator yet. I'll post a link in the main page with another mirror.

Posted Feb 22, 2012If possible, as an op permission or something, have the tnt kill just the player and leave the blocks alone. Not necessary to reset the tnt block, but I think this would make for one hell of a minefield course. As people blow up, the tnt under is gone, but the pressure plate stays so it looks like it could potentially be explosive. ;)

Posted Feb 21, 2012I've been looking for this forever! Please PM me when it's available! Your current system is perfect, here are some suggestions you may add later if you see fit:
Config file to change the type of block required to make a landmine (in this case, iron block) Config parameter to enable only with certain type of pressure plates (stone vs wood) Instant-trigger TNT not only with pressure plates, but with redstone circuitry and switches as well (using same system as above). I think this may be added as a side-effect alongside the actual mod.
Can't wait.
