Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Sep 28, 2013Hello,
Running GriefPrevention (173) without any other plugins on CraftBukkit #2889,
I get this error: http://pastebin.com/Trx2gVVn
Please help. Also, when running GriefPrevention on my public server, I can load the plugin (oddly) but no default claim is created when players place their first chest, even though the radius is set to 4, and is turned on. This happened after I updated from the last non-dev build of GP.
Anybody know what's up? This plugin really needs a stable update to 1.6.4!

Posted Sep 28, 2013Hi there, just wondering if there is a way to allow the placement of TNT and (fire) flint and steel by anybody within any claim. I want players to be able to place TNT and ignite it so that they can break into peoples bases. Chests are already unprotected so it's perfect for allowing players to steal while stopping them from griefing. I saw that there was an option for block placement in claims but is there an option for excluding certain blocks from the protection?
Thanks for any help!
For the record, when I say 'stopping them from griefing', I mean it in a way that makes it difficult to take down an entire base.

Posted Sep 28, 2013Running most recent dev-build. I am creating a new server. Creative world. When break blocks it says "I have to claim land to build" like it should normally. However I can place blocks all day long and it gives no message. This is my first time using the creative world rules aspect to the plugin. But I am sure it would work both ways??? Otherwise it is pointless.
For the time being I have disabled block placement outside of claims. While this will block any placement of blocks outside of a claim it will not give the must claim to build message.
BTW I love this plugin. Works great in conjunction with Factions (adds a great strategy factor to the game).

Posted Sep 28, 2013Is it possible to disable usage of items in claims? I use a mod which adds liquids, and users are able to use the buckets in claims, which allows them to place liquids.
If you need any other information, let me know.

When claims are abandoned it cleans up surface fluids. I have no idea what "surface fluids" are (presumably water/lava above sea level, I suppose, I'd have to check) and I'm not really sure why it's being cleaned up. It would seem completely reasonable to me for that functionality to be confined to worlds that have "creativerules" set to true.
@bradleygill
You could make signs require container trust by adding the ID of the sign "block" to the Mod section of Grief Prevention's configuration. For the dev builds this would be per-world, for 7.7 it will be on config.yml. If it is inside the claim it should then require trust to interact with, but that depends on if CraftBook respects GriefPrevention trying to cancel it, which it may not.
@xDizasterCYx
I thrive on details. Or, to be more specific, I only pay attention to problems when there are details. "It didn't work" or "it doesn't work" is not actionable- There is nothing I can do except ask for more information, really.
@Connor12444
There aren't any permissions there, they are all in subnodes.

Posted Sep 27, 2013I allow players to utilize the CraftBook Plugin on my server, but I'm trying to stop their ability to use the signs that CraftBook allows us to create within claims. My wife specifically put a gate up to enter and leave her claim, but anyone is able to click the sign and open or close the gate. Is there an option to disable the use of those specific Craftbook signs? I wasn't sure, and I love this plugin! Either way it's just something we're going to have to be aware of, but being able to stop people from using those would be epic!

Posted Sep 27, 2013Whenever I remove a claim the water in the claim dissappears too. Even if it is normal sea water. I think I have the right settings in the world config file. I have:
AbandonAutoRestore: false AutoRestoreUnclaimedLand: false
What does these options really do?

That only applies if CreativeRules is true and sets a limit on the number of entities that can be in a claim. I believe 0 disables it.

The latest Dev build. The one that both myself and others have used in 1.6.4 without issue. The configuration and Permissions have been changed so give the Dev documentation Page a look see. The perms are most likely to cause trouble if you expect the old ones to keep working, those are at the bottom of the page.
@Lowgarr
173 has different permissions. If Player doesn't have griefprevention.claims.create than they will not be able to make chest claims. (It's supposed to also do the same for creating claims with shovels but for some reason it's not being used for that)
