Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Oct 1, 2013@xDizasterCYx It could be because of LWC, If I had to guess it's possible that LWC is receiving the event after GriefPrevention; GP has already said NOPE about allowing the chest ot be opened, but LWC isn't written to 'respect' the event already being cancelled, and instead sets the event cancelled or not cancelled based on it's own setup (signs, if I recall).

/giveclaim in the dev build. No way in 7.7
@ChillingFeel
It already does in the development builds. That's kind of why I rewrote how claims how loaded and saved entirely. Currently it's a bit pointless though since the dev builds don't work with 1.5.2 or earlier anyway.
@Th3Z0n3
If by "this" version you mean 7.7, it works but it doesn't work with the new 1.6 features such as horses.
7.8/ the dev builds work with 1.6.

Posted Sep 30, 2013Using the latest dev build. Looking for the permission node to enable /claimslist for my moderators. I tried the following:
EDIT: N/m I looked at the code and found it requires griefprevention.claims.delete Thanks for the awesome plugin :)
I also suggested earlier to allow blocking all block placements other than chests. That way people can still claim land easily.

Posted Sep 30, 2013Is there a way to transfer a claim from one (non admin/non OP) player to another player?
If there is and it's easily found. Sorry to bother you. But I can't seem to find it.

maybe. I reworked some stuff in #177. I don't remember if I changed anything before that in earlier builds. Anyway, since I was able to purchase a second Minecraft account and use it for testing to figure out some Siege issues. I've updated the permissions list in the doc page, but basically they are permissions for creating a claim with the shovel (or whatever tool is selected in the config) and a permission for creating a claim by placing a chest, both of these default to true.
claim enabled was being used as whether GriefPrevention was enabled in the world. I moved that to GriefPrevention.Enabled and the claim enabled should be in GriefPrevention.Claims.Enabled now.
Since I haven't a damned clue what it means to have GriefPrevention Enabled but not have Claims enabled I really don't know what to expect.

That's strange.. I recall seeing a comment by you saying claiming now requires some claim.create permission in 173. Not anymore. Has the claim enabled bug been fixed though?

Posted Sep 29, 2013Love the plugin but it is total bs that there is no permission i can put in my admin and owner group so we can bypass the checks i mean i completely don't want the admins or owner me to have any checks i want to place water lava and build with out the annoying message im not protected also when i place a chest as the owner i don't want it to claim land and show a visual border and stuff that's annoying for me and the admins it perfect for all other players on my server though . I use worldguard to protect my regions i don't want to have to deal with this plugin at all only the players on my server. @BC_Programming

What is this in reference to? The new permissions weren't added until #177.

Posted Sep 28, 2013Just saw that there are new permissions for claiming. Does this mean setting claims enabled to false in the config no longer works? If it is a bug, it still happens in 174.

griefprevention.commands.claimexplosions permission is required. All commands require the requisite griefprevention.commands.<commandname> Permission to work now.
@TheSabreSlicer
Why is that odd, exactly?
Creating claims when a chest is placed requires griefprevention.claims.create permission.
At this point it will just mean more people updating and expecting everything to work as is, then complaining/asking for help here. I have maybe a few hours in a week that I'm willing to set aside for GriefPrevention efforts. So far most of that is spent reading comments and tickets. Problem is adequately replacing the existing documentation and updating it to suit the changes means I'm going to have basically make sure every thing that is written down in the current documentation is even accurate and if not how it changed, which would take a while.
