Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

I agree with you 100%.
Everyone in our community has also gotten used to using Grief Prevention and have come to love it's simplicity. Lately it has become only a burden.
We are considering using Towny, but i don't think any plugin will be nearly as simple as BigScary's Grief Prevention.'
@Alshain01
You appear to be blind of what is right in front of you.

Due to this bug I had to fully reset my claims (+/- 150k) and had to reset my world due to griefs.

No signs of a duplicate claim bug. Simply put everyone's claim block allowance reverts to negatives. It seems to reset them to 0 then subtract the surface area of their currently owned claims thus putting them far into the negative amounts.
@metalguitarist
This post pretty much sums up how my entire server views Grief Prevention now. The server I'm running was BigScary's original test server while he was developing Grief Prevention, Population Density and his Anti x-ray. The community has come to know and love the simplicity of the plugin and how it works. Someone new joins the server? Everyone is easily able to tell them how it works and what they need to know. But with these updates....
No one's happy it seems. To be honest I'm not sure what it is but I really feel like what the plugin is now? Isn't in the spirit of what BigScary had intended for it.
That being said...since LAST YEAR was the last time we had a stable released build and not some beta filled with bugs and problems...Does anyone know of a plugin similar to Grief Prevention? I hate to do it but as it is now with the people managing this? It just doesn't seem wise to continue using it.

Posted Mar 31, 2014I have 7.8 installed and have had no problems other than I can't use the /buyclaimblocks command. When I do, I get the message Buying and "Sorry, buying and selling claim blocks is disabled. I have used the new permission of griefprevention.claimblocks.buy and griefprevention.claimblocks.sell and griefprevention.claimblocks.allow. And I even added the old one of griefprevention.buysellclaimblocks just to make sure. And I still get this error. What am I missing? I am able to make claims, both as admin and basic, and can resize, abandon, etc. And I can use the /acb command to adjust another players claim blocks, but the buy and sell functions are disabled. I do have Vault and Essentials installed, but haven't specifically configured them to do anything special with GriefPrevention. Do I have to fix something there?
Thanks for your help!

Posted Mar 31, 2014Hey! So I'm having trouble with not being able to modify the world outside of claims. I've looked at the config file several times. Is there something I'm missing? I'd like for people to still be able to mine and place torches and stuff

Posted Mar 30, 2014The problem with this plugin is that it doesn't allow explosions or pouring water on unclaimed terrain. It shouldn't be a problem to allow it since claimed terrain is already protected.

The rewrite was started before update was necessary. It was started while 1.5.2 was the latest release. You seem to not HAVE a point.

Yes BETA's are buggy. This is still not my point.
7.8 rewrite is quite the handful and brings much stress on both the developer and the users. This would have been way easier on everyone if only the necessary was updated first.

It's a beta! Betas are buggy. If they weren't, they would be releases.

That's not my point. "Extremely buggy" and nearly unmanageable with a large player capacity server.
7.7 leaves us in the past.
7.8 shoves our face in the ground.

This doesn't make any sense. You can still do everything with 7.8 that you can with 7.7.

Posted Mar 29, 20147.8 took the wheels off a fast moving car
Grief Prevention was a great plugin. The time being spent (If any being spent at all) on version 7.8 has derailed the project and causing everyone running LIVE servers flying blind with outdated or extremely buggy versions.
A version should have been updated only what was necessary to work with the latest version of Minecraft. 7.8 redesign should have been run as a side project.
Grief Prevention was making servers simple and easy for everyone, and now... it's destroying them.
