Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

yeah thats right, even turning on the nether adds a considerable amount of ram usage, even if no one is in the nether, and The End isn't optional so if hes got low ram hes bit out of luck :P
hopefully the requested info wont be hard to obtain

You can break blocks in someone else's claim even without using /ic first??
@wsegal21
You're the only person who's ever, ever complained about lag or crashing related to this plugin. Try disabling your other plugins and updating your craftbukkit to the latest recommended build.
If you still have that problem with a recommended craftbukkit build and even when grief prevention is the only plugin installed, then please provide more information, like error messages from your logs. Also some information about your server would be helpful, like how much ram you have and what you have max players set to.

@bigscary
Prior to 3.0, when logged in as admin I was simply able to build and break at will while logged in as admin. Now I can break, but cannot build. /ic works for sure, I just confirmed, but I hadn't had to use it before, was wondering if it was as intended or not.

Stacking or 3D feature was a rejected feature, but I can see why.
@bigscary
Yes I mean nested subdivisions. Alright fair enough. I do have a lot of coding experience, but unfortunately I don't have enough time to commit to help you code GP. Can I suggest that you also make a poll on what features you should add to GP? :P

or some form of stacking is implied by the "depth" but i think im way off

I don't know what you mean by "in depth subzones". If you mean subdivions inside of subdivisions, no. Sorry, that's scary complexity on my end and I think very, very few people really need it.

Posted Mar 30, 2012Sorry another feature request :P Can we have indepth subzones? Not sure if I asked this in my initial post but it'd be helpful in zoning my entire spawn which is 400x400 blocks big.

I know, you've said that to me before and I said your goal was to keep it simple while my goal was to keep it organized which is why I scripted it instead. Can it not pass spaces? Okay then if I'm not mistaken, you need a parser that parses the entire string input and maps it to the correct function to use like AdminCmd does :/ That's how I use to code the console interpreter for my OS course.
@mrcheesete0 Yes you can do that with CommandHelper. Just script it as /gp trust $player = /trust $player Again I'll offer to send anyone my scripts when I'm done with them =)
For my scripting, I suggest something like this:

I managed to fix it.. However, I noticed in his PlayerData that his single claim was listed 3 times.

Posted Mar 30, 2012Hey all, I just want to ask again for people to try out /siege mode and give feedback. In making the demo video, my friend and I found several minor bugs and one big one, proving how hard it is to test anything that requires multiple players to coordinate their activities. If while playing around you notice something that doesn't seem "right" or "fair" or "balanced", post a comment here. It's possible what you're seeing isn't the design, and is actually a mistake (bug). Thanks, all!
@judam
Yikes. Look further down in his player data file. See how many claims are listed. They're separated by double semicolons like this ;; . That's how you can make sure he has only the one claim. Or if you don't want to deal with the data files, use /deleteallclaims <player> and have him recreate his one claim. That should fix it.
Although, I can't imagine how one might get into this situation in the first place.
@mrcheesete0
Commands can't include spaces. And if I leave the space out like /gptrust, then we're back to where we started. I think there are help plugins which organize help by plugin rather than by only listing every command. A better help plugin is a more reasonable solution than asking all other plugin developers to change their plugins to fit a poor help system.

Maybe make it /gp trust with /trust as the alias?
Best of both worlds?

Posted Mar 30, 2012One of my players has lost a few thousand claim blocks. PlayerData shows he's earned 6k. He only has one claim in ClaimData that is 3k blocks. He gets the <100 error saying he doesn't have enough.

You should be able to both place and break with /ignoreclaims, or neither. It's weird that you say you can break but not place. Are you sure that's what you meant to report?
@krisdestruction
Methinks you both need a better help plugin. Making everything /gp will just make commands longer, I want to keep it simple like /trust instead of /gp trust.
@Qwahchees
That's already implemented. Again read the manual, like 90% of your too many posts here are questions already answered.

That's not very detailed are you saying you want to allow players to only build signs? That won't be possible. If that's not what you meant, then explain better or re-read the manual. If you can't communicate your problem effectively, you're on your own here.
