Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Don't have any ideas right away, but I'll think on it. Are you running a dev build? I just checked against 1.2.3 and I don't see that same issue.
@krisdestruction
/reload
@Folas1337
Nope. Asked many times, still a bad idea. I told the last guy that he can jump off a building if he wants, but he needs to use somebody else's building. :)

Posted Mar 27, 2012You should definitely make the fire-thing configurable. I don't like the fire not spreading and not being able to place it anywhere. I want people to be able to burn down their forests if they want to, but I don't want them to burn down other's houses. Couldn't you make it so claimed blocks are not affected by fire (they don't spread fire or burn down) but every block can be burnt by the owner for decorative purposes?
I would reeeeeeally appreciate that!!! Just a suggestion of a server owner ;)

As long as your admins have the griefprevention.admin.* permission node, and they do /ignoreclaims they should be able to open any chest and bypass all protection.

Posted Mar 27, 2012Correction BigScary, I am indeed experiencing some weird bugs now. I guess they took time to manifest? Trusting is only working some of the time, but I'm pretty sure anything that is claimed is still protected nonetheless.
All in all I am still really really impressed with GP. Can't wait for a proper 1.2.4 release so my users can enjoy a grief-free experience!
Thanks again BigScary you're one of the most active and nicest devs on the scene right now!

Posted Mar 27, 2012I may just be a massive n00b at this plugin, but griefers are managing to use this to advantage, since Admins can't raid their chests.
So how do I let Admins bypass protection?

Posted Mar 27, 2012Hi bigscary -
Seeing a new issue that I thought I would post. For some odd reason, the most current active users have now reached 80,000 claimable blocks despite starting yesterday. I've checked the config and confirmed it is currently set to 100/hr. Any ideas?

Posted Mar 26, 2012Okay guys please listen this is very important. If you are on 1.2.4, you are not on a supported configuration. It's very likely the grief prevention will not work, due to Bukkit bugs. If you're in that situation, please don't post your problems here, and instead wait for a new build of GriefPrevention targetted at 1.2.4.
You can use /untrust public to undo a /containertrust public.
Charizard, you're on an old version. You need to be on 3.0 for safe restore nature. It's also normal for restore nature to refuse to do anything when a player is in the area. You need to go into creative mode, fly back a little bit, and use the shovel from a distance. Yes, it's an administrative feature.
As for giving permissions, you can either /op someone to give them ALL permissions, or use a separate permissions plugin to manage individual permissions.

Posted Mar 26, 2012Once you do let's say /containertrust public
Is there a way to do /containertrust private
???
Confused here because I dont want to have to abandon an entire claim just to get rid of that.
thanks.

1: Make sure you've updated to version 3.0 2: Make sure you didn't give everyone the ignore claims permission.

Posted Mar 26, 2012hi, sweet mod, i'm trying to get it to work on my server but i've run into a couple of problems. my co-owner and i have been testing it, and it seems after claiming land around our houses, we can still attack each others. we're also having difficulties with the /restorenature function, when we use it we get a message saying "unable to restore, <user> is in that chunk" (this is probably an admin thing right?). we logged back in later only to find that the area we were trying to restore is now a large square lake.
any help is appreciated
