Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Sep 17, 2014This has made my day coming on to see that there's a griefprevention update, Seriously this is the one plugin that I couldn't live without on my server. Is there a changelog for the updates to the latest build? I submitted about 8 majour issues with the current build over the past 6 months ish and I keep finding more, what is the best method for me to document issues? Github?
Again, thank you very much guys for this update, I will have to test it out on my dev server before I push it live, its been so long since Ive updated I cant even remember what version im running!

They will disappear if the claim is changed (on the next save). You're right, they were supposed to be UUIDs for the claims themselves (uCid's?).

We're actually going to be switching to a new claim format soon, however it's easier to just read them as is instead of converting all of the claim files to just re-convert them in a version or two.

8.0.3 works! Great job!
I noticed that the UUIDS are still there in the claim files.
Is there a reason you kept them? Maybe a place holder till you start using actual MC UUIDs?
As far as I know the UUIDs in the 7.8 claim files are NOT the actual UUID of that claim owner. I could be wrong, but that's what i believe I read posted here a while back.

You don't have to do anything except set up your config file again (edit the newly-created config.yml).
@SolarXD
Yes.
@erik1988
Yes it fixes frames, leashes, and hoppers. If there are any other new methods for griefing, I'm unaware of them.
I will eventually re-open tickets, but I want to give everyone time to get off those broken beta builds before I do that. I don't want a flood of bug reports for builds I won't be fixing.
I think what we have here (files link and dev builds server) covers the bases.

Why post there? They can still post here and u can download from here 2. If you have problem finding files from dev.bukkit.org u can always download them from Jekins or GitHub :)

Posted Sep 16, 2014Great job guys! Does the current dev build support protection of itemframes (and other 1.7 features) yet?
Also, Will you open up the possibility to summit features requests and report bugs?
I do also think you should consider using spigot as a place to upload and share GP. They have a pretty good system.

You can keep your old Database from 7.8 beta builds, they'll be upgraded when u run 8.0.3 but your configs will be unusable because it's using new one.

Is this doing what I think it is doing? Does this convert the data from 7.8 to the current version without losing all the claims?

Woohoo! A couple of questions:
- Will this update convert the data as well, or just read it? (MySQL)
- Do we have to delete everything else regarding setup, except from the data of claims before updating?

I don't see a real reason to rush yet, but it's good to know it's up there on the list.
Well, I love Halo, so why not show that here? My skin is a purple Spartan, too. xD

Posted Sep 15, 2014Hey all, I think it's doable to have full back compat support for even the 7.8 versions later today, keep your fingers crossed for luck in testing. :)
@LeeTheENTP
It's nowhere, but it's next on my list after I finish investigating the back compat for beta versions. I don't have the free time I used to, but this project is tops on my free time priorities. :) Maybe... by this weekend? That's an estimate, not a promise.
Hey, I just figured out why you've always stuck in my head. It's because you're rolling a halo profile pic on a Minecraft site. Props! But why? =D

Posted Sep 15, 2014Out of curiosity, how far along is UUID support? I know a release date for the Account System Update hasn't been announced yet, but it wouldn't hurt to have UUID support ahead of time.

/trust public should work. Use /trustlist to confirm it set in the claim you think it did. If you're on a beta version (7.8.*), then that could also be the problem.
@Dyllaann
/claimslist <player name>
@ajay01281990
Please double check you have the permission set using an in game permission checking command. Sometimes permissions YML files are very difficult to get right. If that's not it, check your GP version. If you're on one of the beta versions (7.8.*), then that could also be the problem.

Posted Sep 14, 2014I missed something in combining GriefPrevention with WorldGuard, I created the /adminclaims for my worldguarded spawn area and /trust public but GriefPrevention is preventing people from using the levers and pressure plates in my spawn area. I configured that for GriefPrevention in general but I thought /trust public would over ride that.
I tried /accesstrust public but that broke the Enderchests at spawn and levers don't work for players.
Wooden pressure plates work but stone pressure plates don't, but they did before. I see that /accesstrust public and /trust public are different levels so /trust public is the maximum I can do.
