Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Mar 11, 2014Anyone run into an issue with tamed horses disappearing from someones claim? Ours keep vanishing and not sure what else could be doing it. Seemed to start after installing GP and not sure if I missed a setting. Could be coincidence.

Posted Mar 11, 2014Um, I love this plugin, But wouldn't it be cooler if u cud have the option of naming your claim, so when ppl walk into it, the name appears of claim they entered. Like a admin claims a city or town and names it "spawn town" and player enters it, it says "entering spawn town" I don't want to have to get towny in order to do this.

Posted Mar 11, 2014I see a lot of server admins, myself included, run WorldGuard for admin claims and have GriefPrevention for player claims.
The problem with this is that GriefPrevention doesn't check if you're inside of a WG claim already. It would be fantastic to make this plugin compatable with WG so that if you add a custom flag (say, grief_prevetion deny) to a WG area, GP would respect that.
I love the ease of use of GP, but it's not robust enough for admin purposes. And I love the robustness of WG, but it's not user friendly. Both plugins do an excellent job, but it would be great if they played nicer together.

Posted Mar 10, 2014So, I just thought of an idea for my server after watching the GP videos. Does anyone know if this would work?
Create a marketplace using adminclaims and then subdivide it and create small shops, sell someone the rights to use ContainerTrust. Would people then be able to place signs and work with ChestShop? Or could I pre-place signs and then they could edit the writing? Hmm.
What about an idea for future development to Place signs in a subdivision and have it connect to an Economy plugin and use that sign to display and sell that subdivision. Also adding to that, what about identifying specific rights on that sign for that subdivision?

Try giving yourself /ignoreclaims. It usually fixes things, if not then this is a bug and should be reported in the tickets section.

(I've never used the economy part before, so I'm just guessing) GP needs Vault to interact with any economy plugin first. Then, go to the config.yml and change the ClaimBlocksPurchaseCost and ClaimBlocksSellValue to something other than 0. If this isn't what's needed, ask someone else :P

No, the idea of the plugin is to make a totally ungriefable area. Allowing players to go over the top would defeat this, as they go pouring lava and making the area above their lovely build look ugly.
If you wish to have total customisability instead of simplicity, I suggest WorldGuard.

The gold and glowstone markers are 'ghost' blocks, they never existed, but the server fools the client into seeing them. It only fools the client once on claim creation (And whenever else the player makes them show) and the blocks will disappear if the player clicks on them or moves far enough away.
This plugin works alongside coreprotect and others, but they don't interact with each other. In other words, you could create a worldguard region over the top of a griefprevention claim and they would give conflicting orders on who can and can't touch things in that area. While you can run more than one, it doesn't mean it works properly.

Posted Mar 8, 2014Well...glad I backed up my data.
Updated to b282 from b213 and upon starting up the server everyone once again had negative claim blocks. Reverting back to b213 until this problem is fixed...again...
