Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Because of the nature of the comment thread and how fast it scrolls by please submit what you will need in the API as a feature request ticket. I'll be more than happy to add whatever you need to the API to make more third party plugins more compatible.

I uploaded a file about 5 hours ago and it just got approved. Also, if you want you can try out the latest dev builds in my jenkins. http://build.yu8.me:8080/job/Grief%20Prevention/
Red star means it compiles, but it needs testing to work out bugs, etc.
Green star means I've tested it and it should be relatively free from bugs.
Gold star means it's been uploaded to bukkit dev as either a beta or release.

Hey,
I am currently switching over to GriefPrevention mostly because of the nice "easy land claiming for claim points" feature! And everything that isn't yet implemented in this plugin (like more different claim types and some flags I need for them), because it's not about prevention of grief, is pretty easy to do by using the api.
However, I hope the api will expand in the future: I could probably need some CustomEvents for different GriefPreventtion actions like claim creation, claim modification. And some sort of player-made-a-selection-event I can hook into would also be nice, just like api(-documentation) about modifying a players claim-points (would like to allow/add some sort of claim-point-trading directly between players and not only with the server).
I simple hope that the api and it's documentation is not yet "finished" and will be improved and expanded in the future. Thank you for the getClaimById()-method so far :)
Thanks for your work in advance,
blubb

We have to wait for them to be approved by Bukkit. However, if you subscribe to file updates for a plugin, you will get an email with a link to the file as soon as it is uploaded! :)
@Tux2
They don't care if you link to dev builds or jenkins. Bukkit dev wouldn't want you linking to a file hosted on their systems that they have not approved yet. It's mostly to cover their own butts. Makes sense to me.

I did put the link but a mod removed it: "Last edited 49 mins ago by drtshock: Linking to unapproved download."
Wow... He might as well just remove the Jenkins build link on DisguiseCraft and MultiInv while he's at it...

That's pretty and all, but where's the link? :P
BTW - does version 7.6.2 protect against TNT minecart explosions? That could be a huge problem once word gets out that people can grief with them.

Posted Mar 18, 2013Hey Everyone, Soo, I've updated GriefPrevention to MC 1.5! This is a beta release and a couple of ways of handling claims in memory has changed. I've done some basic bug testing and everything seems to work, but I'm not 100% sure. Feel free to download and test!

Posted Mar 18, 2013I updated to 1.5, and now it seems that chests are no longer protected in claims. Any user can open any chest and loot it, (even though they get the "no permission" error.)
Also just tested with button access as well.
EDIT* This did happen, but it was another plugin called TreasureChest that was causing all GriefPrevention protection to be null. Sorry for the false alarm.

I'm waiting for a trapped chest event as it seems it's not in the dev versions yet.

Unfortunately not at the moment.
