Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Feb 23, 2013first of all, this plugin is amazing work great an it easy to use. the only problem we find on are tekkit server is: people claim there claim has unclaimed its self, me, the owner an the over admin belive this, isnt possible or at lest it shouldnt be possible. we get so much stick from people because they say there claim an stuff has gone over night. the one thing that would make this plugin 100% admin friendly is if there was or is some way of logging how the claims go, i.e: was it inclaimed by the player ?, did it unclaim its self because the player hasn't been on line 4 the set time. if this can be done we could tell them 100% u unclaimed it or ur friend unclaimed it. thanks 4 the plugin dont no wot we would do with out it. we have even patch 90% of rm/dm tool 2 make them safe :)
thanks again dbulpitt

I had the same issue when i first started the plugin, all i had to do was give my OP/Admin group the "griefprevention.adminclaims" permission and then it worked as you expected. if you don't have an Admin group just assign it to yourself.

Posted Feb 23, 2013@ Tux2 and BigScary:
Nice plugin and I would like to use it on an upcoming "reboot" of my server but I'm testing it and this MIGHT be an issue. I log in as a regular user and then OP myself from the server console. I then issue the /adminclaims command to protect the spawn area. I use the golden shovel and right-click a spot but when I try to set the opposite corner (200 blocks away diagonally) I get the message that I do not have enough blocks. I thought admin plots were not counted as being done by me?
To get past that I give myself blocks and set up the area and then de-OP myself. When I try to set up my own personal area within that zone, instead of getting the warning that I CANNOT do this because it is an admin-protected plot, instead it tells me that I cannot make another plot within the one I just set up and that I should adjust from the corner(s).
When other players (NOT ops or admins) click on the plot they are told that they cannot build there because my account (not admin) has not given them permission. Is this the way it is supposed to work? I would prefer that admin areas be protected and generate messages from "admin" instead of me - is that possible?

Posted Feb 22, 2013Hi, i was scratching my head a bit regarding adjustclaimblocks.
I have the max accruedblocks setting at 20000, and was going to use adjustclaimsblocks permissions to give out more.
So i was setting up perms for it .. but was wondering what the effect was going to be if i gave 10000 to groupA ... then 20000 to groupB. Would groupB actually get 30000 then? the questions is based on the fact that groupB inherits permissions from groupA.
cheers sirmyllox

Posted Feb 21, 2013Quick question, i'm sure i missed it somewhere, but hopefully someone can help. Every time anyone on the server places a sign, the console logs it, is it possible to stop that? also what is the purpose of it logging sign placements?

Posted Feb 21, 2013Do you just have a big, clean list of permissions? I can see some permissions scattered about in the Administrative-Topics page. But I'm just looking for a simple table with permissions and possibly a small explanation of each one.

Posted Feb 21, 2013I've looked over the feature list and I couldn't find anything quite like what I'm looking for, but it's a simple feature.
Premade plots - Basically, I'd like to arrange a series of plots and then allow people to claim them. Probably by right clicking a sign.
Vault Integration - A super simple system where a user can right click on a sign to purchase the plot via my Vault economy system.
I want everything that this plugin does, I just want to be able to have preset plots on a specific world.
Edit - Nevermind! Pardon me while I derp.

Posted Feb 20, 2013@marubal21 GP overrides the server setting by stopping zombies breaking doors; the point of grief prevention. But if you like that feature and continue to want zombies to break doors, then set the GP option to true. This is for wooden doors only. Silverfish… when released from their 'monster egg'; a block disguised as a stone brick or stone …have a tendency to 'eat' other blocks around them and essentially destroy them. Setting this to true allows them to continue doing this. Enderpearls… this option when set to true means people can't use enderpearls to gain access to a claim through a 1x1 window or small crack left by a poor placed iron bar or fence. Claim owners have to allow the use of pearls on their claims by allowing another player trust access. I have mine set to false; people find all kinds of ways to use them and get into other people's claims. Good fun to watch the arguments >:D
@RawwkGaming Type /claimslist player …replacing player for the one whose claims you're looking to locate. The above command is permission node related so providing you have access to that perm, then happy days!
EDIT: and if you want to prevent PVP in a specific area, assuming PVP is enabled everywhere else... No, GP can't do this. Use World Guard to create a region and make a flag that denies pvp.
@bryanjen778866 Currently no. All non-admin commands are part of the plugin; i.e. no separate permission nodes to control who can do what. So the only way to fix would be for Tux2 to implement individual nodes for each of the commands. Maybe these exist and we can add -griefprevention.trapped to our permissions configs. But as far as I can tell, they are not listed anywhere, so probably don't yet exist (or maybe never will exist) as separate nodes. Tux2 will elaborate further I'm sure.
