Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Administrative claims are different from other claims. By design, all players can open chests, use crafting blocks, kill animals, and use buttons/levers. The only restriction in an administrative claim is on building. They're designed for use with admin builds like redstone gadgets for trading, special chests that refill themselves, food dispensers, and big builds like cities. You can also use them for a few other things, like to create a wilderness area where players can "hunt" monsters but not build anything.

i don't think its "there's only a few people so i don't care about doing it right now" i think its just hes got bigger priorities at the moment and sometimes pleasing the biggest group of whingers/users (there is both!) first is necessary, probably shouldn't recommend people to comment spam him for a feature it may not go across well, although that plugin sounds cool, if it gets implemented i may re-implement DynMap myself ;)

MikePrimm over at DynMap said he is planning on a Grief Prevention map plug in, which is great news, but he also said its lower priority than some other stuff until he gets more interest in it. So anyone who is using Dynmap, go over to his bukkit entry and post a comment to show that there is interest in it.
And if you aren't using dynmap, you should, its awesome. http://craftminer.com:8123 to see ours in action.
Thanks Lostwave.

spblat, just FYI: it says in one of the videos that one of the features of admin claims is that players CAN access chests, flip switches, use doors, kill animals, etc. so that you don't have to give them permission. Admin claims are basically for land/building protection.
EDIT: Also, you might try switching over to PEX as it supports multi world as well and I have no problems with it.

Posted Feb 15, 2012Yeah. I'm playing with a bunch of kids we know aged 8-14, and I'm probably making it more complicated than it needs to be. But ideally the big kids get more permission and responsibility, and the little kids who grief can be banished to a throwaway creative world.

well i just dont use perms lol so goodluck,
Rant:
i understand their usage, for finer control or classes or even used as a pay-for-perks system, however i fidne it simpler to go by "do i trust that guy or not" XD and at most i have onlt had 3 ops (including myself) now 2 :P
i like to set things up so there is no need for Op's so usually i am running as a regular player just like everyone else ;)

Posted Feb 15, 2012I'm blaming bPermissions. Weird behavior concerning portals that disappears when I /p reload, and now an unprivileged player can /adminclaims ... clearly that would be a good reason why they could see inside a chest placed in an administrative claim. I need to get smarter about interrogating bPermissions. Foo! Thanks again and wish me luck...

well in 1.8 there is a world specific enable/disable of grief prevention, perhaps you should use that, and then apply permissions only to worlds you have enabled, it cuts back on ur bPerms dependancy, aso view the administrative notes on the correct nodes, http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/grief-prevention/pages/administrative-details/

Posted Feb 15, 2012I'm using bPermissions because I want world-specific permissions. And I think there is something wrong with it. In my latest test an unprivileged player can't access chests, destroy or build in my claim. And in an administrative claim they can access chests, but cannot build or destroy. Full list of plugins:
Chestshop Multiverse-Core Multiverse-Portal Multiverse-NetherPortals Multiverse-Inventories Grief Prevention iConomy bPermissions Vault
Everything is current as of this particular moment.

Posted Feb 15, 2012It seems like my non-admin players are able to build and grief on claims made with /adminclaims. Am I doing something wrong or is it possible there's a bug? This is with 1.7 and 1.8, with bukkit 1.1R3 and R4.
Thank you for an awesome plugin.

Sounds great... thanks. I think all my issues will be solved. You rock!
Can't wait for 1.2 to come out. You ready for the new chunk format? It will probably make for a good bit of work. Good luck.
I also put a message on the Dynmap forum mentioning your plugin.
