Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Yes, but I'm completely fine with relatively unstable as long as it reaches eventual consistency, which it obviously would.
@bigscary
Can you not get an alpha release out soon?

Posted Oct 28, 2012I found a bug... if you try to place a bed in a claimed land, the bed will become unusable (good) but only half of the bed is destroyed (bad). Great plugin otherwise!

Yeah the melee attacks from the Wither are nasty. When I was testing the damned thing turned my house into a construction site! haha :D
I wanted to see if it was possible for the Wither to do any damage to claims (and now I know it can), because I can imagine these would be used for major serious griefing on servers running GP. It would be a perfect way to cause _major_ problems for any mc server! I'm still testing so I have nothing conclusive to offer in the way of contrsuctive advice/comments. Let you all know when I do. ;)
@bigscary
COOL! Thanks for the update bigscary. I am dying to see the release of CraftBukkit 1.4.2 RB too. :D

I am running the development build and I can confirm the frame bug. When the beta build comes out you will probably also have to look at the Wither boss .. especially the initial explosion that it causes when you spawn it. Otherwise I seems to function pretty smoothless ..
I am aware of the risk I am taking by running the development build but it's worth it so far - I might regret ;-)

Posted Oct 28, 2012Hey all, regarding 1.4. When the first beta bukkit build comes out, I'll check for severe issues related to griefability of land claims, and severe griefer exploitability bugs for the wilderness, like dumping buckets and TNT. If I don't see any, I will release a "beta" build to match that bukkit beta build.
DO NOT run your server during the wait period unless you make a backup first and notify your players that you may roll back changes when the bukkit update comes out. If you choose to run your 1.4 server using one of the Grief Prevention builds created for 1.3, DO NOT post here about your problems. I will not investigate them. Bukkit's developmental builds are by definition full of bugs that I, as a plugin developer, can do nothing to fix.
6.8.1 Fixes!
@JAG100
I posted over there. Hopefully the Survival Games dev will either take my suggestion for a fix, or contact me so that we can figure something else out.
@SmoothNanners
Check your config file to make sure you've listed the IDs for all of the Tekkit containers there in the mods section.
Also, someone told me that NoItem will prevent GP from doing its job with buttons, switches, and containers. If you have it, I recommend replacing it with TekkitCustomizer (it's easier to use anyway).
@PepRoween
/AdminClaims
@Falcon_Hunter
Yes, see administrative details page. There are a couple of config options you need to set. However, I don't recommend it. It will slow your boot without giving you any performance improvement. Your only benefit will be the convenience of having all your data in one place.
@VietNg
There's a config option where you can list slash commands which produce chat messages.
Did you disable anti spam? I never see caps on my servers. Can you show an example of a couple of messages where you expected it message would be blocked, but was not? Do the players sending those messages have the "griefprevention.spam" permission?
Which version are you on? Latest versions have automatic claim removal code to reduce total claim count. Total claim count per player limit will just piss off a few players without actually solving the problem, since typically players only have 3 or so each. If you have actually have a lag problem due to GP and not poor hardware or other plugins, you'd be the first. See the performance section above.
@anasuelli
No sorry, you have to pick one. Use wooden if you want new players to have ready access. It will have the benefit of not being annoying too, since players rarely use wooden shovels for real work.
@krisdestruction
My hands are tied, I don't have the free time to thoroughly test and troubleshoot dev builds until one works. I'm waiting for the beta builds.
@sirmyllox
What do you expect, using a 1.3 compat grief prevention on a 1.4 server with brand new items? Come on man, be reasonable. Wait for a 1.4 compat version.

All in good time, I'm sure. ;)
Remember these guys work for nothing at their own expense. There isn't yet a stable build released from which to work with. I think after Bukkit release an RB there will be lots of plugins updated to their new 1.4.2 versions.
Grief Prevention is _THE_ number 1 plugin. That's all I really care about. hehe :D

1. Players can get around spamming command by typing in different caps type: /Msg,/mSg,/MSG
2. Players can chat in all caps and avoid being blocked by spam.
3. Please create maximum claims per person to reduce the amount of claims, maybe reduce lag :)

Posted Oct 26, 2012I've been using 5.5.1, as you recommended, but players still managed to bypass claim protection by opening other player's alchemical chests, condensers, other Tekkit chests, etc. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Posted Oct 26, 2012@BigScary - Can I get your thoughts on this post? It relates to the issue between GriefPrevention and the Survival Games Plugin.
OwenGraven Posted over at the Survival Games Ticket System:
I finally found the error between griefprevention and this, its the pvp combat logger from griefprevention that interferes with the teleportation on death.
So if you set it to -1 (disable) it in your GP config file it will work all fine, you lose the pvp combat logger for the whole server though so maybe a world-related config would be nice to add on gp's side.
Is this individual talking about the config value for CombatTimeoutSeconds which is set to 15 by default? I believe I tried setting this value during my trouble shooting to "0" as well as setting ProtectFreshSpawns and PunishLogout to "false" but none of that fixed the problem. I guess I'll try setting the value for CombatTimeoutSeconds to "-1" and see if that resolves.
Any other thoughts or comments you can add to this would be most appreciated!
Best, Joseph

He can first /subdivideclaims just around the chests, if he wants to avoid giving that permission for the entire claim. :)

/containertrust all
but that would give access to all buttons, levers, beds, crafting gear, containers, and animals on the claim to all players. Not sure you'd want to do that. :)
