Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Sorry, neither of those are anti grief, so I won't add them. Players can keep themselves safe from pvp by using an iron door, since players without speific permission can't use another player's buttons and levers.
If you want to avoid extra features you don't need, I recommend teleportsuite for /tpa, and myhome for /home. If you want a teleport system that players can't abuse to save themselves from combat or being lost, then look into PopulationDensity - it has no-abuse solutions for teleportation and homes.

Posted Jun 21, 2012Thanks for the reply. We did have a problem with magic spells explode, It seem to bypass WorldGuard Region, people would destroy blocks. All we did was turn of damage of block in the spells.
Another question is: Is there any chance to allow players to turn on and off pvp in thier protection without adminclaims.
Telelport location in that protected area. Maybe add something to your plugin like... /tpadd <any name> /tpremove <that name>. But set a limit per protected area. able to turn it on an off. or have a white list. or just people that in the trust list.
We are about to completely stop using Residence Plugin. Too much lag from Player Move event and player break even.

The permission groups are for bonus claim blocks, not a strict size limit. You can combine this with a lower "max claim blocks accrued" setting to ensure new players can't claim as much total as "members" or "donators" or whatever you have going.
@xcrazac
Just give those players a permission, and do /acb [permission] 10000000. They'll probably never use that many blocks (and you can increase it even more if they do).
@sillyrosster
Can you explain a little? In what way are you impacted by PvP stuff in creative worlds?
@ArkGullwing
The defaults only apply to new playres who have never been on y our server before. Increasing the default block count doesn't automatically give everyone on your server additional blocks to make up the difference.
@ArkGullwing
Please help me better understand your situation so I can better help you with the "I don't want anti grief in world X" request.
@cascer1
That's the default for survival worlds. Do you mean for creative worlds? Just take the world out of the "creative rules worlds" config list.
@Feaelin
You can use the donation link above and just put a note with your donation that it's for the server, not for the plugin.
@typhoonwes79
I'll make this configurable. But does your magic spells thing allow players to change the world? If it does, you might have inadvertently given your players a way to circumvent grief prevention. Test carefully. :)

@zedadiaswick: The public wheat farm problem seems to me a candidate for an entirely separate plugin that allows you to mark an area as a public farm, that only allows harvesting fully grown wheat (or only actual pumpkin/watermelon blocks, etc.) and automatically replants wheat seeds.

Posted Jun 21, 2012hey, is there a way to make everything in the world just publically accessible to everyone except for the claims? so people can build anywhere, and then claim the building with their blocks if they feel the need to.

@bigscary
Yeah I tried to increase the amount of blocks people get via the config to something like 5000 to start with, and well... did the usual, reloads, restarts, deleting player files of those online to get them to show up to the plugin like they were 'new' to it and everyone was only starting with the old default values. I'll have to do more testing before implementing this I guess.
What would be so awesomely amazing though is the ability to exclude particular worlds from being effected at all. As it is I can only exclude worlds from being claimable in, which means they are unable to be built in. Having a third list in the config for "ignore anti grief" would be GRAND!
Love your work thus far by the way ^_^

Posted Jun 20, 2012This has been annoying me for awhile. I want this plugin to ONLY work in worlds I configure it to work IN. I am OP, so that might be why, but in my creative worlds, I am affected by it's pvp stuff and it is annoying the crap out of me..

Posted Jun 20, 2012So can you set protection size limits based on permission group? Or does that fall under the "I'd like to add groups support." in the to-do list?
EDIT: Oh snap, was this actually just added in 4.6? Or am I reading the changelog wrong?

There's no vertical limit on claims. They start from where you create them and go to the sky. As you dig underneath or build underneath your own claim, it automatically extends down to protect the newly explored area.
@ArkGullwing
Yeah, players who play on your server get to claim more land. It's up to them to decide whether they'd rather spend it in your creative worlds or your survival worlds, depending on where they like to build more.
Allowing players to claim all they want in creative worlds will lead to a griefer claiming an immense area and then creating an immense mess inside it. Claims are even more important in creative worlds than in survival worlds, because griefers have unlimited griefing resources (blocks, buckets) with which to grief.
Registration makes grief less likely. You could give your builders a giant pile of bonus claim blocks with /acb [permission.node], then ask them politely not to overclaim in the survival world.
@zedadiaswick
I don't think that would really solve your problem. They'd still ruin the wheat and you'd have to repair it. :( Maybe public crops aren't worth it - even when people aren't griefing, selfish people take without replenishing anyway. Since all players can grow their own food, maybe it's better just to expect them to do it?
@NagatoSC2
Very glad you like it. :)

Ok i understand you dont want per world config for trees.
Instead could you add a config setting for listing worlds for which griefprevention should be disabled?
For now i go disable the tree options.

Posted Jun 20, 2012Could there be a /farmtrust command? To allow players to harvest wheat, melons (but not stems) etc. I have some subdivisions for new players around wheat farms, which I've made public - but as this is the only area griefers can find, they just make massive holes in those subdivisions

Posted Jun 19, 2012OK so I understand this may be somewhat specific, but I believe a lot of servers have a set up like this, and there may be something that I can do that I'm just not aware of or thought about...
The situation: I have a main world (Survival) and several other Survival worlds linked to that one, and then I have 2 Creative worlds.
The problem: Available claimable blocks are shared between ALL worlds, creative/survival alike, even if the world is listed in the creative rules list. I'd like people to be able to claim (protect) as much space as they'd like in the creative worlds, and be limited like normal, in the survival worlds. If that isn't possible, then I'd like to disable this plugin entirely from effecting the Creative worlds, and only apply to the main (survival) worlds.
Our creative worlds are kind free for all for our registered builders. Non registered players can't place/destroy anything as is, so I don't really want to have all of my Mods working on a parcel based system in the creative worlds.

You can add a value for gold. Although, someone says he had trouble with it, so I have to investigate. Why protect gold, anyway? It's not useful for anything.
The mute is only per-message. If you can grab from your logs what you saw that was muted that you didn't think should have been, I can investigate. Please include at least enough of your logs to show the player's last few messages as well, so I can look for a pattern.
Yeah orebfuscator is ludicrously expensive to run. I tried four different versions over the last few months, and every one of them crashed my server regularly (out of memory). That's why I looked for an alternative, and when I didn't find it, coded one.
