Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

LOL Just noticed the votes above about the string. :p Looks like I only have to wait for a little while and my problem will be fixed. :) Which is good, because I like this plugin.
Thanks. :D

no, not unless you did something drastic like go to the github and compile your own version of GP with it changed to another item

You can do /trust public.
@re4397
I doubt it. But I use LogBlock alongside Grief Prevention as a backup, and if you enable chest logging in the LogBlock world file you'll be able to monitor that.
Also make sure you check /trustlist on their plot in case.

Posted Jun 16, 2012Is it possible for an admin to transfer a non-admin/player-owned claim to another player? And if not is it possible to add that function?
Have a claim where the owner is MIA but the trusted players want to take over and the only way right now to fix that is to remove the claim alltogether and by so messing up water and lava...

Posted Jun 16, 2012Hi! Me again, If I have my own claim is there anyway to give EVERYONE access trust instead of typing everyones names? I want to make a town and have it that players can rent out plots of land in it. I can't do it with adminclaims because it won't let me transfer subdivided claims to other users. So I made the entire town my own claim. But I want my own claim to have the permissions of an admin claim but don't want to set up every user that pops on the server those permissions one by one.
Any ideas?
Or can you make it that I can transfer subdivided plots of adminclaims to other people! So it'd convert that subdivided plot into a user owned one.

Posted Jun 15, 2012Could you make it so that users can't sethomes within another players claim? You could make it track what users type when they are within claims or something instead of having to hook into a homeset plugin? (idk if that's possible just a suggestion). Thanks

The name of the world is the first part of the filename. So sort by filename, and you can easily identify those belonging to the world you are regenerating.
@Galzek
That's because it's an admin claim, which allows access to containers and doors and beds. Just use /transferclaim to make the top level claim your own private claim. I don't think I've ever tried using /transferclaim with a claim that already has subdivisions. I don't expect any problem, but if you have one, let me know.
@Necrothis
I think you have too much trust for the kids. :) Anyway I'm adding a configuration option to allow dumping water anywhere on the surface in the next version.
Also if you want to be the only person who can create claims, set your "create claims requires permission" to true, and also set your "chest claim radius" to -1. This is documented in the admin details page.
@limdingwen
Haha, I'm glad you didn't take offense to my comment. I have a similar problem on my creative server - I think creative servers really attract 10 year olds and lazy teenagers, because it's ridiculous that when they have the link to a demo video right in front of them, they still insist on someone explaining it to them so they don't have to watch the vid. I just ban them, because I won't babysit them and I don't want them annoying other players. Argh!
@ThisUsernameIsMine
Just update to the latest GP. That's a fixed issue.
@ben3683914
Good point ben, I'll think on that. I didn't consider that this might be a mostly admin scenario, in which case a little ugliness might be tolerable.

Seems like the groups support for Vault that we've been wanting isn't going to happen. Though I think what you described as a workaround to it would work in most cases. I don't think many regular users on our servers would really need explicit groups support anyways. The way I'm wanting to use it is simply to allow certain donators to the server to have access to a specific piece of land, and I suspect it's a similar situation for others.
Is that something that you think you'll add for at least some sort of groups support? I think most of us would be completely fine with typing out /trust [coolserver.playergroups.citizens]

Heh, bigscary, we are currently in the process of changing from vanilla to "having protection". I am currently teaching my admins how to do stuff with it. Yup, I know there will be some complications (players finding they cannot place water, and they keep buggin me why they can't build on the roads in the city). Haha, I do agree that my players are lazy bums, they keep asking me how to claim even when they are already holding a shovel and they have the demostration link right in front of them! ARGH. That really gets me steamed so much that I just kick them. :P Finally I threatened all thise who didn't care about claiming that I will not be rollbacking anything. That really got it going. :)
Claim blocks for you!

Posted Jun 14, 2012Hi I am sorry if this is simple but I cannot find the answer to it so I am forced to ask. I would like to allow my players to use water and lava in the wild on a survival server, as they are my kids and are aware they are not to make a mess of things. However I do not want to have them setting up claims all over the place, which would and has quickly happened. Is there an option to allow them to place buckets of water and lava in the wild without giving them the power to create or manipulate claims. I would like to be the only one that can set those areas for them. Thanks ahead of time folks and by the by I love this plugin. Please keep up the good work it is appreciated.
Cheers

Posted Jun 14, 2012Ok, one more question. If I have an admin plot and make subplots to give to people. For some reason EVERYONE can open their doors and open the chests in the subplot. Since this is someones plot where they can have a house and want to store their stuff then they are out of luck from what I can tell. We tried erasing the permissions so no one had access and then I gave the user access but everyone was still able to open everything (probably because it started as an admin plot)
If we can't transfer admin plots over to private ones to give people to people or can't let the users define the permissions of a subdivided admin plot then unfortunately I'm going to have to go back to another plot/city plugin. Which sucks because I love this one
