Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

was just thinking of this today, it may be quite handy, i think kicking them out is fine but not creating some sort of forcefield around the claim ;)

Posted May 12, 2012Hi, we've been running the plugin on our server since we started it up a couple of months back, and we've encountered 1 issue that players seem to be having with plots. Essentially - players are bugging players by following them around in their plots and intentionally getting in their way.
Is it possible to add a command for players to kick other players from their plots - or maybe simply deny access for a particular player? This would be to stop players 'annoying' the player(s) owners.

I'm not using economy on my server. The way it works is the more you play the more you can claim. the initial claim around the chest is small but with a gold spade they can slowly increase their land.

Unlimited is VERY bad, user could claim like over 10000000 blocks.... Ex: 10km around spawn!
For more... look in the config.

I use another plugin called heroes which defines classes and abilities. It also defines what items can be used. By default most classes can't use gold shovel. It would take a lot of configuring if that was all you wanted but a tleast there is a way. I'm sure that there are other plugins which control what tools can be used too.

Posted May 12, 2012Hi, Is there a way that you can define that players can only create their claim while placing a chest? So that they don't have permission to use the gold shovel?
Thanks

Posted May 11, 2012As always, love the plugin.
I would REALLY appreciate it (unless it already exists and I'm blind) an option to disallow button and levers in admin claims, and only allow wood doors as usual.
:D

Posted May 11, 2012Ok, am I being silly? or is there a permission level that allows people to place/destroy blocks (i.e. help build) WITHOUT giving them access to chests?

Posted May 11, 2012I'm sorry, but it seems you're not understanding the problem I'm having. I want to be able to restrict people to only be able to purchase blocks when they are in certain worlds. If you could add a permission, I could do it that way. If you could add a setting in the configs, I could do it that way. But Vault has nothing to do with it, because its just the purchase from your plugin. I'd really appreciate if this could be added.

Thank you very much for that kind review, Auntie. :)
@re4397
Not planning to add groups support.
Not possible to prevent building outside of claims. I'm trying to stop grief without stopping non-grief. And adventuring in the wilderness is a big part of the Minecraft survival experience. I can see where you'd want this for a creative world, but I'm not planning to support that. It's possible for someone else to accomplish that by using my public API. I hope someone does. :)
@kalau
I hadn't noticed the snow thing. I'll check it out myself later.
Someone needs to create an extension plugin to allow for flagging claims. No one has done it yet. Because flags are not critical for preventing grief, I won't add it in this core plugin. For now, best to add WorldGuard just for sake of creating some no-PvP areas (which can overlap your GP claims, no problem).
Again, I can see where that would be valuable for your scenario, but it's not something everyone who just wants to stop grief would want, so I won't add it here. You should consider making your feature request to the "Grief Prevention - Real Estate" guy.
@guitarot
Instead of searching comments, read the administrative details page. :) You want /DeleteAllClaims <player>.

Posted May 11, 2012I apologize if this has been answered before, but it is nearly impossible to search these comments for anything useful.
I permanently banned a player for griefing, and I want to delete his clams. Is it safe to delete the "world;" files in ClaimData listed in his PlayerData file? Or could that screw things up for people who gave him trust on their claims?

Great job so far. I'm currently testing GriefPrevention v3.5 on a small server with a dozen players. so far I've only found 3 things to report;
1. I found a bug. snowballs can be taken from protected snow covered blocks which does not destroy the snow resulting in unlimited snowballs.
2. it would be good to control if pvp is allowed in admin areas. I want a safe village area for shops and other things.
2. The server I'm working on is a competitive PVP server and I'm looking to add some sort of upkeep to claims which must be paid periodically or claim is removed. Eg: players keep redstone in a chest within the claim. Each week 1 redstone is remove and when there is no redstone the claim is removed. This would make for interesting sieges around payment time. Although this is an antigriefing plugin it could be used as part of a territory control game also which my players are interested in playing.
I've only had your plugin for 24 hours. At some stage I'll check out the api but thought it worth feeding back.
Keep up the good work.
