What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

AutoClaim dont claim circle. It is imposible to claim circle :D Only if you claim /f claim warzone 5 it will claim something like circle :)
/f autoclaim claims only there, where you go :) P.S. Minecraft is a game of square, so sorry, all is in squeres :D
About mysql... Many want it, but it is hard to create Read THIS

Hard to say where you failed in config, but better ask it in your chatmaneger developers... Also i recomed you use Essentials chat, because u use Essentials, and they have good chat manager too :)

Posted Apr 11, 2012Okay maybe I'm missing something, but didn't autoclaim use to claim in a circle and not a square? Trying to claim the initial warzone for a new map, coming out a an ugly square.
Also, I know you aren't keen on the mySQL idea, but I had my web developer create a script to convert the config files into mySQL and we were able to do dynamic stats on my website. Example here:

It parses the files every 5 minutes right now to update the database. Converting to mySQL would make that so so much easier.

I believe the a and the f are supposed to be color codes but i cant get a & in front of them to make the work properly. Please help sorry if this has been solved anywhere else. If so, please link me. You can find a plugins list Here

Posted Apr 10, 2012Have to agree with MarkehMe this is a great plugin and while there are a few bugs, they are doing it free and have put together a nice plugin for the community.. Patience and knowing the plugins.. and making sure there are no tabs in your config help a lot. That may not be your issue, just saying.

Hey hey man. Remember that they're making this free plugin out of their spare time, and out of their common curtesy. You should show some respect. They have families, and other commitments too.
Respect what Brettflan and others have gone out of their way to do for you.
If you believe it is a bug, then file a bug. Don't make raging comments about it. Looking at the error it's clearly something wrong with loading the configuration file.
Next time you change the configuration file read EVERYTHING: "You should normally be using /f config to change any configuration, as outlined in our user guide."

You my friend, are the reason I hate the internet. You think your idea is supreme, NEWSFLASH, you arn't in-charge of this plugin, you want something? Get off your ass and learn to code. You don't need to harass the person who is working in is OWN time to make a plugin for people to enjoy. Plugins are made to please the masses, not that single person. Posted Apr 10, 2012Can you *please* add a CraftIRC endpoint for public chat so that it routes to a definable target if a user is in the public chat? Endpoints (buyable #channels?) for all factions so they could have their own IRC channels would be amazing, but just one for public chat so it would hit IRC would solve all of my problems/requirements and I could finally enable this plugin.

(I don't want moderators to be able to fiddle with the enemied factions stuff, just teleport out if necessary).
My temp solution is removing tp from the faction blockage, which I included to prevent moderators from cheating during fights - I suppose combattag can take care of that, though.

Moderators who take part in the game cannot (with ease) exit players who enemied their faction unless given the /f bypass permission, which includes a number of powers I'm not willing to give to moderators.

I think like that you cannot, because you cannot build in enemy teritory...
if you allow to build in enemy terirory, then it will work .. Or if your enemy use pistons...

You can use pistons, but you need to create Levers, buttons or pressureplate to use pistons :D

After the 1.7 branch is ready I might see about some way of forcing a particular relation between specific factions and everyone else. With this, you could have WarZones considered as enemy to all other factions, and the "territoryEnemyDenyCommands" would therefore apply to anyone in a WarZone.

Ownership (covered in the user guide) can be used to protect specific chunks from anyone in the faction except the specified owner and the faction admin (optionally faction moderators as well).

A shortcoming of the ownership system as it's currently implemented. It will be rewritten when it's implemented back into the 1.7 branch.
