What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)

- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!

I have MobSpawner inside my shop<sub> and IronGolems spawns.. sucks :P</sub>

Posted Feb 2, 2014Factions 2.3.0 does not produce a factions folder. Also Mcore 7.0.xx does not produce any files but 1 config.json
Question about the plugin: 1. As a server owner I need to preset the factions that player are allowed to join. This doesn't seem possible for this plugin. I don't want any new factions created past the ones I want specifically. I don't see any factions folder so I cant seem to figure out how to do this at all. Is this just a bad release or are we missing something?

You can set player specifically to enemy.
I'm aware you can already do this (in a way), but it sets the faction they're in to enemy. Sometimes it carries over when they hop/make a new faction, but most of the time it doesn't and instead i remain enemy to the faction they were in, but not to new factions they join/create. Have it similar to /f access where you can select a faction of a specific player. A lot of time when i see raiding, they often just leave the faction to be able to use commands such as /tpa and /back etc to get back into the base. While the disabling of those into enemy territory might be server specific, it still defeats the purpose of having a faction set as enemy if they can simply leave and make a new one to tp back into the base they've broken into. Having them set to enemy is supposed to make it more difficult for them to function inside enemy territory, there should be no counter-play to this. If you're an enemy and the hole you came in was patched up, you can either leave and can't get back in or just stay in the base for the rest of your life. It's tiring to play chat-commando: /f enemy-ing every time i see the player(s) in question make a new faction. I could go to the server administrator for this but i'm certain the faction creators can address the issue better. Perhaps overload the /f enemy function to have a -p somewhere if they wish to single out a player specifically.
Example, I '/f enemy' a player in faction "A", therefore i am also enemy with faction "A" (This already happens). If that player leaves faction "A", if i don't have an enemy association specifically with faction "A", i no longer have enemy to faction "A". Any new factions this player in question joins or creates automatically become enemy to my faction (this is what doesn't happen and defeats the purpose of blocking /tpa and /back into enemy territory). (Make sure to negate this action if they try join the faction i'm actually in for whatever reason! I doubt the plugin will know what to do when i'm enemy'd to myself)

Posted Feb 1, 2014so why is factions gay now? only way i found to claim the land is to join safezone or warzone and claim. no faction or allied chat.. I have to have a seperate plugin, and a lot of other useful things are missing. This "New Version" basically is the old version minus all the good stuff.

Posted Jan 30, 2014have had an issue I am unable to figure out yet. Maybe someone here can help me out. So the issue we have on our server is this. When a faction creates traps or people bomb into someones base and get trapped. They are ENEMIES so therefore can't teleport out or go home etc. What they are doing is Leaving their faction and then teleporting out or jumping into another faction and then teleporting out. I have tried changing the default perms for neutral etc but when you do that players are unable to use commands or edit wilderness because wilderness is an actual faction now. So my question is how do you prevent people from leaving factions or jumping factions to get out of traps or being locked in someones base etc.??

Posted Jan 30, 2014Is there a way to limit the boundary of where all factions can claim? For example, I'd like it so factions on my server can't claim past 5,000 of any coordinate, x or z, to keep all factions at least relatively close to each other to promote activity. Is this possible, or do I have to spend the rest of my life claiming warzone chunks from 5,000 to the world limit? Thanks!

We're having an odd chat message come up. We're running factions version 1.8. When someone claims land, we see in our chat "Someone(ENEMY) tried to claim this chunk but was denied." That's exactly what it says, no matter where we are. It says it in all white chat too, no colors specifying it as part of factions. It also says, for the person who has done /f claim, it says in their chat "You may not claim this chunk while ENEMY is within it." And no one is in the chunk that they are trying to claim. This is obviously an issue, and is very odd, it happens to everyone, and the person claiming land is never actually in someone elses land. However, we see that message. I can't figure out what is causing it, please help?
