What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

It still says [faction] before my name in color_me it says... format: '[GlobalPrefix]&r[GroupPrefix]&r[FACTION]&r[Prefix]&r [name] &r[Suffix]&r[GroupSuffix]&r[GlobalSuffix]&r: [message]' thats what it says in Color_Me and in simple_prefix it says... format: '[Faction][prefix][name][suffix]: ' does anything look wrong?

I just did that. on essentials its '[FACTION] [DISPLAYNAME] &6{MESSAGE}' and then on ingame chat its jsut "[FACTION][Owner ProMCer]: Hello" when I enable chatsetformat: true it becomes
"<FactionName ProMCer>: Hi" GODDAMN WHAT IS WRONG SOMEONE HELP ME

Well if they have something that looks like <{DISPLAYNAME}> {MESSAGE} for example you would want to do <[FACTION] {DISPLAYNAME}> {MESSAGE} If they both have that then do it for both.

Whatever plugin is changing your chat, you need to go in and add [FACTION] in front of the name.

That doesn't really help, I don't want players to be affected by anything faction related in some worlds, including ally pvp prevention and such things.

Posted Jun 21, 2013Is there anyway to add an NPC leader to a Faction? Maybe using citizens or something of the sort? I am currently making a server where the plan is to have them join these already established factions and then can venture to another world and perform all the regular Factions goodness.

I've tried many times. I don't think you can 'undo' claims. The best way for you is to use: /f claim (wilderness) (the radius you want) For 200 x 200, I'm guessing its /f claim wilderness 10 might be more.

Getting your server popular is actually very easy. Regardless of how long it's been around. Many other popular servers say you have to have unique features, get actively involved and all that other crap. The real way to get popular really fast is to focus entirely on that. Although it wasn't the tactic I used for my main server. It has proven to work on my second, 200 player server, that is only 3 weeks old.
If you're so focused in becoming popular, than that's all you have to do. It's pretty much like a campaign. Form bumping teams on large forums, spread the word on skype, tell your community to tell their friends. Get your staff to spread the word. I didn't make my server popular, the community inside it did.
