What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

First acces faction admin, /f admin. Then go to the part you want to unclaim and type
/f unclaim

1.) How do I disable having to be enemies to attack someone in a faction? I have people camping in their faction base and shooting unfortunate people who happen to walk by and they cant hurt them back =/
2.) the config isn't as stated i type /f config factionPermDefaults build ally and it says that the setting doesnt exist in the config. So I checked my config and half the stuff you have in your config explanation isnt even in there xD

It goes by chunks, so a radius of 8 claims a radius of 8 chunks.

If dealing with the general public bothers you, you're doing it wrong. Opinions are like butt-holes, everyone has one. The fact that you ONLY respond to comments that upset you, is.... entertaining for me. There are so many questions below, with no one helping.
You're right, you're not obligated to offer help.... you're not obligated to put plugins on bukkit either. Putting a plugin out for people to use and then telling them to piss off and read is ass-backwards. It's like, me giving someone all the ingredients to make a pizza, and them telling them to google it. But, you're just a tester. I don't know why you are treating all these people like this. Sure, they may spew crap from their mouths and say reckless things, but it puts you right on their level when you do it in return. Your high horse isn't really that high.
Is it really that hard to say "Thank you for your comment. Please read all info, as factions has greatly changed and it will be to much for me to say in one go. Please visit the wiki and read all the change logs." (well.. now you can copy and paste)
Me? I have no problem using the new system. While I did have to read a bit, but I got it working just fine. But their will ALWAYS be those that need that extra inch of help. That's life. That's how it works. You should learn to deal with it. You're not always going to get sugar coated comments. You're not always going to get praise 24/7. It doesn't work that way. You're not a dog, you're not a pet. You shouldn't need a reward for every time you help someone.

Sorry if my text was missleading. I wasn't speaking about you being angry but more of the general anger that people display against us. Most people lack of perspective, maybe I do too for their side. I personally do not care enough about this plugin. If we would make it closed source people would whine and finally see what they lost, but (imo) sadly cayorion is fan from open source things.

I understand the "anger" about the lack of documentation but I must show you the other side.
Factions was and is not ment to be a plugin that is developed for the community. It's made for our server massivecraft and therefor we felt no need to document the changes more than in the changelogs. The maintainer (brettflan) made the decision to maintain 1.6 further on which was a mistake in my opinion but it doesn't matter anymore.
If people would read the changes in the changelog and FaQ it would help them to understand and be aware of the changes that happen from update to update.
We are not interrested in making this a perfect plugin for the community, we make the plugin to suit our needs. We will not implement anything that doesn't feel needed on massivecraft. You guys must simply live with that fact or fork our work and modifie it for yourself.
That being said:
-we are not obligated to help you, nor do we get ANY appreciation if we do so
- we will not implement new features
- we will not document 1.8 since we are working on 2.0 and its documentation
-if you want some support for any question include version number and exact problem that appears in detail!
Other than that, I cannot help this community in any way because I don't want to waste hours on hours answering stuff that can be found.
