What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

factions.officer

. It appears to be omitted from the general permission for fullplayer, but I believe it's that :)

What is the permission with "/f officer" ?
My server players can create a new faction but can't officer faction member.

Hello im trying to set /f config warZonePowerLoss: false

Its telling me no such config exists, i looked in the config file and there are no warzonepowerloss configs anymore?, for the latest version?

Help pls =]

Note just read changelogs above ^^

Ok so you changed it and took it out, is it no possible now tho to set no powerloss for warzones? Since warzones are created generally by the server owner, not the factions?

I agree with x3nec.

We have bin running new factions for a while now. It took the players just a few days to get the hang of it and we have no problems what so ever.

The negativity in the comments are sickening, the new features are good and a step forward. Be patient, this is one of the best and well maintained plugins.

Great Job Factions team, keep going!

I agree, the new factions system is great, but it's lacking some components :S, not that it's a great problem really but it gets on my nerves when players on my server keep asking me why the /officer command won't work.

Hey guys, I noticed a lot of negativity in relation to the new Factions stream. I personally think it is fantastic the changes you have made. It seems you noticed the main use of the system was aimed at pvp. And commands/features have adapted to that environment. Fundamentally shown by the replacement of mod with officer. The flags are a good and easy feature introduced to the players and they all like it on my server.

To users of the plugin posting on the forum, their dev team do state that there is not much documentation at the moment, therefore it is unfair to make statements of "lack of attention". The time in which they are not replying, they are probably trying to fix these issues and create the plugin. Most rebuilds of software tend to be faster and more efficient, so whilst we all have to grit our teeth until its done, the final product will be much better than the previous. I wouldn't support the plugin in my own works or on my server if i thought it was going downhill, so trust me, I'm certain we'll end up with a better end result than the version 1.6 stream :)

I don't like the new factions none of my members can use the /f commands now even though they have permissions in groupmanager i do have vault what is going on? Only the owner can create a faction now... i even gave them the permission factions.kit.fullplayer and still nothing!

Hi,

I have multiverse installed, how to do disable wilderness protection in this new version as I my "games" world says PVP is disabled in Wilderness.

Ive tried with worldsNoWildernessProtection by adding to the config file as /f config wouldn't accept it. Has it changed to something else?

Hi,

PLEASE add a way to disable faction banks from being generated completely. Since all users start with $5,000 on my server, whenever a user creates a faction they are able to disband it for a free $5,000, even though faction banks are "disabled" in my config. This is ruining my economy since I can't catch every player who does this.

Someone told me you were aware of the issue, so I am wondering why it has not been fixed yet. It seems like a very major exploit.

What permission plugins do you suggest then? I'm not typically a fan of them but I wouldn't mind using one to get Factions to work.

So I was able to get the faction tags to work but I can't seem to get normal users to do any factions commands. I use essentials and I would prefer not to use a permissions plugin.

I am using the 1.6.9.4 version of the plugin, how do I make it so that players cant use bonemeal in warzones.....?
