What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

The good factions version, the one that people actualy use has basically been discontinued. Brettflan you should give the project to someone else, im sure many people will be happy to take over such a famous plugin.

Hmm.. you guys should explain how to use it, I still dont know what to do?

Does containers means the same as chests? What do i have to add? "Enemies" ?

That should work as part of the EssentialsChat format string. Though you say it's showing "[Operator]"; are you using group formatting for EssentialsChat and not including the Factions tags in that string or something like that, maybe?

The new perm system (/f perm) covers that. Read through the last FAQ entry above more carefully and, more importantly, just try using that command in-game to see the perm settings for a faction. I'm not going to hold your hand through everything.

Hey i have a server and i installed the faction plugin but befor the name and priffex there is a "f" please help?

Enemies should be able to open chests in others territory, but it seems that this option is gone from the config file. I cannot find the solution in the FAQ or User Guide..

How can i allow them to raid chests?

I am not seeing how the last FAQ helps me. I need to make it so faction enemies can use everything except, placing blocks, breaking blocks, and pressing buttons.

I have recently installed Factions with the most recent update. I have updated from the [FACTION] config through EssentialsChat, and know I changed it to:

[factions_relcolor][factions_tag_pl]&f {DISPLAYNAME}: {MESSAGE}//

The messages still come up in chat as [Operator] Bill: Hello.

Do you know how to fix this?

Just updated the FAQ note above to add this for clarification: Besides "build" perm, allies also now default to having "door", "lever", and "button" perms as well.

I removed the ally build permission, but they can still open doors?

What is the fix? This has caused 2 unfair raidings. :/

Its telling me some configurations dont exist like “warZoneBlockCreepers”“safeZonePreventAllDamageToPlayers” “warZoneBlockFireballs”“warZoneBlockTNT”

I would like to make enemies able to access chess and levers ect... how do I go about doing this?

Peaceful faction members are considered in TRUCE relation with everyone for the purpose of PvP checks.
As for which specific thing is causing your problem, I just went through the trouble of outlining all apparent possibilities. It's now up to you to figure out which is causing your problem.

Just grant them the factions.perm permission. It only allows faction leaders to use the command on their own faction. Only admin bypass mode allows it to be used on other factions.

I installed the newest update but when i create a new faction the faction name prefix does not show. I have essentials chat installed and groupmanager and when i put the {FACTION} thing in the chat format but that does not seem to work. and it also creates a file next to the essentials config called (config error) and resets it back to the regular config.

PLEASE HELP???

This plugin has changed a lot in the latest version, I managed to set most of the config correctly again. But what about faction and ally chat how can I reactivate them?
