What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

When i try to change the configurations like “safeZonePreventAllDamageToPlayers” “warZoneBlockCreepers” it will tell me configuration doesnt exist.

I dont want everyone 2 have perm 2 use Factions is there a perm for that?

As per the link in the last FAQ entry above, the "_pl" in "{faction_tag_pl}" stands for "pad left". You can use "_pr" (pad right) or "_pb" (pad both) instead for padding on the right.
EDIT: so to be perfectly clear, it would then be "{faction_tag_pr}" or "{faction_tag_pb}".

The only reason I know /f might stop working for you is if you have another plugin overriding it or something.

..how do i add a space between the faction tag and the player name cause there is none for now?

Since I downgraded from 1.8.2 to 1.6.9.5, all the players got the NORMAL faction role, so there were no faction leaders and mods anymore. Does someone know how I can get the old mods/leaders back or is there a backup file or something?

Hi, i just upgraded.

for some reason /f command isnt working anymore. I have to use /factions. is there a way to fix this?

Also in the latest version was the peaceful faction removed?

Hmm but I am not using a permissions plugin since I have no idea how they work. I tried essentials group manager and put in factions.kit.fullplayer in the list of all those permissions for builders etc,but it just crashed the plugin?

Faction names wont show in my chat. I'm using SupaChat for my chat formatting aswell. How come we can't faction chat?

You shouldn't use the Bukkit /reload command, it causes a wide variety of problems including memory leaks. It's an inherently broken command. Use the /stop command to fully shut down and then start the server back up instead.

Hey, i have a quick question about Warzone Claims, i claimed a certain area with warzone, and then later typed /reload for a server related issue. When suddenly i am spammed with tons of "Warzone does not allow you to edit the terrain. You can bypass by using /f admin [on/off=flip]"

I know i can stop it by typing /f admin, but i have to do that after every reload or when i log in.

Any solutions to this would be great!

So in your Essentials chat format configuration stick something like "{faction_relcolor}{faction_roleprefix}{faction_tag_pr}", as an example.

I can change some of the configs like warzone and safezone it keeps telling me it doesnt exist even though im typing everything right

@Brettfan I don't understand anything abotu what it says on that chat help thing, and I'm using essentialschat, and it doesnt show the f tag. I fixed the permissions and the rest, its just the tags im having trouble with

The example command has "SomeFaction" in it; you should replace that with the name of the desired faction. It even tells you it doesn't recognize that as a faction or player in your screenshot.

Are you using a chat plugin, or what are you having trouble with?
