expbook
Version: 1.7.1
Description:
- Make an altar
- Use a book at the altar
- Get exp from the book
NOW WORKS WITH BOOKWORM AND PERMISSIONS!!!
Commands:
/expbook reload - Reloads the plugin /expbook disable - Disables the plugin /expbook help - Shows the help page
Permissions:
- expbook.*
- expbook.command.* - Gives you permissions for all commands
- expbook.use - Lets you use altars
- expbook.create - Lets you create altars. Also lets you destroy altars.
- expbook.command.reload - Lets you use /expbook reload
- expbook.command.disable - Lets you use /expbook disable
- expbook.command.help - Lets you use /expbook help
How to use:
- Place a Lapis Lazuli Block
- Place a redstone Torch on top of the Lapis Lazuli Block
- Right click on the block with a book

Posted Nov 24, 2011the permissions don't seem to work for other players, not sure why. I'm an op so it works for me, but even with expbook.use, it tells the other guys "you don't have permission to use the altar"

Alright simple error in the code. It was finding the book name before checking if you had bookworm. simple fix! releasing now.

Ok so I made it able to use bookworm. Now inside the config there is an option for bookworm, set that to true and set the title of the book that will give you the exp. When you have a book with that title and use it at the alter you get the exp. To make it work with more then one book will be hard though. I can try to do that but I can not promise anything.

At the moment its 1 exp per book. I am making sure everything works right before adding things like a config file to change it. The books are consumed after you use the alter.
EDIT: It is at 1 exp per book right now not 10. I forgot to multiply it by 10 in the code. It will be in a config file in he next update hopefully.

I am working on the plugin now to fix the permissions bug which will probably do the same if I add that plugin in. But I can maybe make another version of the plugin just for you with that in so that you get what you want and it doesn't mean everyone needs that plugin. For the defining your own shine thing. I have NO idea how that stuff works yet so at the moment I can not add that. I will however make it so you can pick the bottom block in a config file or something.

Posted Nov 23, 2011any chance of making an option to work with a plugin like book worm so only specific books work at the shrine. say a cryptic book of exp? also if this were to happen different exp values for different books. it would be awesome for rpg servers, to send someone on a quest to go get a book then use the book to get exp(and not cheat and just sit at a shrine and make and use books).
another idea would be to allow users to define there own custom shrine by selecting two corners of a "cube" that shrine is in (similar to the rebirth plugin).
