Features:
- Easy-to-understand configuration file.
- Able to customize messages and disable unwanted features.
- Use /tag or /ct to check tag time.
- Remove players' Combat tags if they disconnect because of lag or if they were kicked.
- Block commands (using a blacklist/whitelist), teleportation, and enderpearls.
- Remove invisibility potions, disguises, or fly mode, upon entering Combat.
- Display CombatTags on an ActionBar.
Permissions:
- combatlog.bypass - Ability to bypass all of CombatLog's log prevention methods. (Default NONE)
- combatlog.reload - Ability to reload combatlog.yml. (Default OP)
- combatlog.update - Ability to see UpdateChecks upon logging in. (Default OP)

1. Update to the newest verison.
2. Delete your config.yml and messages.properties and start from a clean slate.
3. Set any messages that you don't want to be displayed to 'false' in the messages.properties if you feel that they are "spamming."
4. More intuitive updates coming in the future.

Posted Aug 4, 2013I can't get the disabling features part of the plugin to work - I ONLY want the plugin to prevent people from combat logging, none of this stuff about removing potion effects or creative mode. However, even though I've disabled these things in the config, they're still coming up ingame - it puts me in survival mode whenever I hit something, spams messages about "unfair advantages," and won't let me go back into creative until after I'm out of combat. I'm also getting the messages about "unfair advantages" being removed even when I'm not in creative mode or under a potion effect.
How do I fix this?

EDIT: Also, the plugin seems to only consider melee damage; I don't get any of the effects of the plugin at all when I shoot things with a bow.

This has been added for a while. If you're using an old version of CombatLog update to v1.8.11 and delete your config.yml and messages.properties and then scroll down in the new config.yml. You'll see it.

I understand how you feel and why you wanted the feature. At least the camper's dirty tactics are just "hitting twice". That's probably more annoying than it is life-threatening.
Your concern brought up a lot of valid, important points which led me to come up with an idea to counter camping in general. So, I submitted a suggestion ticket for @JackProehl to consider implementing.
Thanks for bringing that up, I've never thought about how to counter camping myself until now. :)

Ah yes i see your point here.. I never really thought of this... But in the experiences on my server the 'experienced' players abuse this border by stepping out, hitting twice and then running back in, i know its the other guys fault for standing around but it is extremely annoying when your trying to kill someone and they just camp safe zones!!
Take a look at PvPTag, that has it, the only thing with that is the rest of the plugin is bugged to hell...

That's not camping, that's hit and run.
Let me give you an example of how that feature can be used to effectively "bully" someone. I know this hypothetical situation isn't reflective of real gameplay, but it still gets the point across.
Everyone knows a safe zone has a border. If a newbie has some items that a "tougher" (usually more armoured, better weaponed) player wants, they can block off this newbie by following them along the border wherever they go.
This feature, if it were activated, would only exacerbate the issue by giving the newbie even more incentive not to leave (out of fear): usually something a good server doesn't want their players to experience. This is because they will know that the moment they step "out of bounds", it's game over for them.
You could just tell them "suck it up" or "be better prepared", but that's not really nice. :P
But @JackProehl's idea is a great alternative. If this idea were to be implemented, however, it would require an optional dependency on multiple protection plugins which can be quite the hassle. (I don't know how much this API will help out with that.)

Posted Aug 2, 2013When fly is disabled it is still quite easy to fly away from a fight by spamming the space bar. If the command /fly was sudo'd during pvp it would be a lot more effective.

Yes that i can do but i cant tell everyone to raise the ground outside they're town so people cant get back in!!
Just thaught it was something you could add in... i have seen it before in a plugin but the rest of it was buggy as hell...

No this prevents camping... at the moment on my server you can run outside of a safe zone, hit someone, and run back in making you safe again...
If combat log prevented this then for 30 seconds (or whatever time) you can be hit anywhere safe or not... meaning the person you hit can come after you...
