CityWorld
CityWorld
The great outdoors is all good and fine but sometimes you just want to go to town. Not any town will do, how about one that goes on forever or multiple ones separated by the largest mountains possible in MineCraft. But what is under those mountains? There is an entire world to explore, have fun!
There is a Spigot/Bukkit happy version of CityWorld over at http://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cityworld.2250/. I am not going to be updating the version here on dev.bukkit.com, so go there for the latest.
Version 3.002

More pictures can be found here.
v3.002 (at https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cityworld.2250/)
- Now supports Minecraft/Spigot 1.9 (or I think it does) and was tested against PI day build of Spigot
- Added an option to turn off things like Hot Air Balloons for folks who don't like fun things in the air ;-)
- Add material lists for astral, bunkers and water towers generation, yes I know there still more to do
- Reduced the likelihood of Museums, sorry about that
- Farms now can grow BeetRoots, Yumm!
- More building and roof styles
- MAYBE ISSUE: It seems to me that Minecraft/Spigot 1.9 causes CityWorld to generate worlds slower, but I could be wrong
- Fixed bugs
v3.001 (at https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cityworld.2250/)
- Finally got the fossils generating... and Museums :-)
- Fixed a long standing tree generation bug... and added the occasional dead tree trunk
v3.000 (at https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/cityworld.2250/)
- The majority of materials used during building generation are now configurable (lists are maintained in the cityworld's yml file)
- All chest content generation is now configurable (phatloot should still work if you really need it)
- Road material is now configurable, don't like clay... change it
- Added new lot types to world (hot air balloons, water towers, park mazes, barns, etc.)
- Brought over some of the Maze world lots to normal worlds (lumber yards, quarries, camp grounds, etc.)
- Created a way to invert the range generation logic, now you can generate cities that surround a center of nature instead of the other way around
- Lots of refactoring and tweaking, world generation will likely change... sorry but it couldn't be helped
- Fixed a number of bugs that have been bothering me
Personal note
It has been a while, sorry but my day job continues to be a bit crazy and is pretty much taking up all of my time. In this most recent update CityWorld should now work against 1.8.8 to a large degree. Many things have changed with the latest MineCraft and Spigot/CraftBukkit, I would be surprised if no problems are hiding in here somewhere.

Heads up!
This plugin really "tests" MineCraft/Bukkit when it comes to complex worlds. In fact when you spawn/teleport into a new CityWorld (or some wildly new location) it takes a while for all of the blocks to generate. This is especially obvious if you are flying around. Once the blocks are generated though everything works just fine. What I recommend is take a tour of your new world and just walk/fly up to each "uninitialized chunk" until everything shows up.

Posted Aug 16, 2014Has anyone successfully used the Schematic feature on 1.7.9? I am encountering an issue with it, wherein I follow all of the guidelines but City World reports "0 schematics found". I am using Spigot, build 1470 I think. Anyone have any thoughts?

Found the bedrock in the chest problem (silly me was casting an integer to a byte, sorry about that). I will issue an update this weekend to fix that. Also I am moving to stained clay for roads instead of stone. The stone was causing way too many odd ore generation problems with other plugins.

Posted Aug 7, 2014Hey there. I am trying to generate a Decay world but the result seems to just be a normal city. What is the command to generate a Decay world? Thanks for your help.

What do you mean "bedrock in sewers chest"? Do you mean that some bedrock showed up as inventory in the chests themselves? Wow that is odd. I am at a loss how that would occur. Could you private message me more data like...
If I remember right none of the ranges used to populate the chests (assuming you aren't using PhatLoot) could possibly intersect with the Bedrock id. Strange

Posted Jul 19, 2014I threw a donation your way, nothing large, but enough to get a pizza and a beer. My server has been using your plugin for a long time now, and it's a fundamental part of its make-up. I'm really looking forward to the next potential update, and would really love for a way to blacklist and whitelist building materials, and potentially configure the contents and spawning of chests? Nonetheless, enjoy the meal!

Posted Jul 14, 2014I have one report that there might be something amiss with CityWorld v2.97
but I have not duplicated the issue. As always, feedback on the latest [[http://dev.bukkit.org/media/files/799/864/CityWorld.jar|CityWorld] is welcome... especially if it comes with reproducible steps. :-)
UPDATE: That report seems to be related to using CityWorld and BiomesOPlenty plugin together (my thanks goes out to ProsperCraft to helping to isolate that one). I am still looking at the problem in house, more news as I get it. If you aren't using that particular plug in then you should be good to go.
UPDATE to the UPDATE: It seems that BiomesOPlenty is pretty much another world generator... so I wouldn't try to use both it and CityWorld to generate the same world. It is kind of like having two gods in one place, it may sound cool but in the end thunderbolts get thrown and little people die :-)

Posted Jul 14, 2014Ok... I have updated the plugin, v2.97. It should work against MineCraft/Bukkit 1.7.2 as well as the latest beta/dev releases (I tested it with the latest 1.7.10 releases).
I continue to explore it and look for generation anomalies. If you come across any please remember to send them my way. While I appreciate pictures of the issues, the world generation file used by your multiverse plugin along with the seed (very important) is what I need. Also don't forget to include the map coordinates of the issue along with a description.
Good hunting :-)
For the latest pictures
p.s. don't forget to donate, nudge nudge ;) ;)
