BOSEconomy
This plugin is no longer supported.
I have not updated this plugin in over a year, I barely even play Minecraft anymore, I've gotten a full-time job, and nobody else on the team is interested in developing it either. It's time to put it to rest. With the release of name changing in Minecraft 1.8, this plugin is no longer functional. Please do not use it anymore. The code is mediocre at best, and was written by a college student with no real-world programming experience. You really shouldn't want the source code. If somebody comes up with a script to convert BOSEconomy files to work with a different economy plugin, let me know via PM and I can include it on this page.
Thanks for the support I got while it lasted, and sorry for going silent and letting everyone down.

BOSEconomy is a simple, lightweight economy plugin. Every player owns an amount of currency and can make simple payments between one another. Read below to see all of the available features.
BOSEconomy stands for "Brotherhood of Slaughter Economy". The plugin was originally designed for our community's Minecraft server.
Features:
- Simplicity: install and go setup. Place the plugin in your folder and modify the files.
- Flexibility: Robust system able to accommodate the simplest of economy setups or the most complex economic setups to date.
- Reliability: Works with almost every Bukkit update without any need to update our plugin. ( no long waits for plugin fixes upon new Bukkit release )
- Standard: One of the leading Economy plugins. Backed by plugin API's such as Vault and Register. This means any plugin that uses vault or register as its backbone will make our plugin work with it without any need to change either persons code.
- Scalability: Control the functions of your econ based off of the size of your server base. With in game commands to modify almost every aspect of the plugin there is nothing you cant control.
- Ingenuity: Procedures put in place that provide the server owner with the "Sky is the limit" mindset. With options and controls to almost every aspect of the plugin there are hundreds of ways to make an econ system.
- Dependable: This plugin is constantly monitored and maintained. One of the most annoying factors to server owners is when a plugin loses support because of the owners disinterest in Minecraft. That will not occur with this as my communities server is very popular and proves to be a cornerstone for our gaming needs.

Posted Feb 26, 2012I have a sorta urgent error. On my server, users only have permissions for balance and pay, but they still can use the /econ set command. I've double, triple, quadruple checked that they don't have perms for it, but the players are currently able to set their own money without the right perms. There are no errors in console for me to post... I use groupmanager. He isn't opped, he doesn't have any extra perms. Using the ingame permission checker command to see if he has any boseconomy nodes turns up negative. Yet he can still use the admin commands.

Compound interest is coming in 7.4 in fact we have taxes as well.
Online player check, is already in. You simply set online mode to true and players who are online are the only ones who will get paid.
If you have anymore ideas please let us know!

Posted Feb 23, 2012I think this has been asked before but I will ask again. I would really like to see two features added to BOSEconomy...
I think these features would make this already robust plugin much more versatile than other economy plugins. iConomy has an interest feature, but to me is finicky about the way it works, where I very much prefer the way BOSEconomy is configured.
Thanks for your time. :)

Indeed, we want to go this route as well. We are in the works with some of it already. SQL integration is taking time though. Do you know java?

Alright, I will wait for that. The point is that my server is maximum integrated with web-site, so I do need SQL support. And SQL market/auction will be great! So I can make a PHP version of it :)

That will come in time. there is honestly no need for sql at this point. We are working on 7.4 right now. Once that is complete the SQL part of this plugin will start. ( most of the code is already done by a friend of mine for the sql but we have to integrate it with the current system ) We are also making a market/auction house system that will work with the sql portion of the plugin exclusively.
Sadly, these take time so please be patient and just try it out as it is now.

Posted Feb 16, 2012I've been behind on the latest permission plugins, so I apologize for seeming ignorant about the whole thing. I did a quick test with bPermissions, and it seemed to work properly with BOSEconomy. Setting use-permissions-plugin to false makes BOSEconomy use the default Bukkit permissions API, and I'm assuming bPermissions modifies these built-in permissions, rather than using a completely separate system. Permission changes made via bPermissions were immediately picked up by BOSEconomy during the testing, so it should be safe to upgrade. If you're uncertain, or if I'm totally misunderstanding the problem, then you could try backing up your bPermissions data before upgrading to check if BOSEconomy actually works.
The "Located Permissions" message only appears when use-permissions-plugin is set to true. It's caused by an unrelated problem where BOSEconomy looks for the legacy Permissions compatibility layer, rather than PermissionsEx. That particular bug is fixed in v0.7.4 (which is still in development).

Awesome, can't wait for the update. This is the last plugin I have using legacy permissions API. bPermissions is sweet, hopefully you support the official API which would make them all (permissions plugins) work in theory.
