AdBlock
AdBlock is a Chat Filtering system designed to target those pesky people that come on your server and attempt to sway your players to leave your server and join another server.
This plugin was conceived with you in mind, and aims to offer fully configurable comprehensive advertisement blocking for your chat systems.
AdBlock 2.0 is here, and the filtering depends entirely on you. Adblock 2.0 uses a fully configurable point system, meaning certain keywords add a certain number of points to a players message, if a players message accumulates 10 points in total the message is discarded.
- omitted website support -> this means you can add in passable websites that your users can talk about * See omittedwebsites.txt
- HybridKeywordListener -> blocks keywords and depending on your own criteria it'll add a certain number of points for that message. * See keywords.txt
- all flagged messages are stored along with the time in msglog.txt
- all txt files are located in plugins/AdBlock

Posted May 1, 2014Well, months later, I have results. :P So far the only thing that would be useful is a bypass permission. Also, in a few messages, using periods and commas in certain places blocked the message. Unfortunately, I was not able to get a screen shot of it, however, I am guessing that it is something that is fixable.

That sounds more like a bug, I'll look into it and release a patch asap. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

So for example, if I want to let people share youtube videos I have to put in every youtube video link ever made into my omittedwebsites.txt? Because youtube.com is in there, but the plugin stops be from entering entering youtube links into chat. It also doesn't block google url links or shortened youtube links, there are probably more

each file has examples. it censors a good amount of websites by default, to have a website slip past the filters simply add it to omittedwebsites.txt

Posted Mar 26, 2014Very little documentation, how are the files supposed to be formatted? Also as far as I can tell this is just a censor for anything, not really websites. For example I have bukkit.org and dev.bukkit.org, but if I try to link "http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/adblock/" it doesn't allow it.

Thank you, please relay your results and I will address a buxfix where applicable. It utilizes code from the Apache Commons project for the ip checking portion.

Can you provide more insight into the message you tested? "Doesn't work" doesn't help me address issues.
