WorldEdit Selection Visualizer
WorldEditSelectionVisualizer
1.9 Compatibility
The latest download is not compatible with Minecraft/Bukkit/Spigot version 1.9 yet and I'm not sure if I want to continue development of the plugin. ZathrusWriter made an unofficial update of the plugin that seems to work fine (although I haven't tested it). You can find the download for that here.
Overview
WorldEditSelectionVisualizer (WESV) is essentially the famous WorldEditCUI mod in the form of a bukkit plugin, which means that players don't need to install anything on their client.
Features
- Spawns particles around WorldEdit selections so players can see them
- No client mod required
- Supports cuboid, sphere, ellipsoid, cylinder and polygon selections
- Use /wesv to toggle the visualizer
- Only show the selection when holding the selection item
- Configurable particle effect
- Force large particle distances to see your selection from far away (requires ProtocolLib)
- Prevent players from spawning too many particles when selecting huge regions
- Highly customizable for the performance of your server
Documentation
Detailed documentation about the available permissions and configuration options is available on the documentation page.
ProtocolLib
This plugin has optional support for ProtocolLib (Jenkins build #74+). If you want to see particles from distances > 16, you need to have it installed and enabled in the configuration (see Documentation).

Credits and Metrics
This plugin uses darkblade12's ParticleEffect library to spawn the particles. It also anonymously collects statistics via MCStats Plugin Metrics. You can read about the data that is being collected here. You can see the statistics here.

Posted Jul 17, 2014I would really like to know if this works with 1.7.10, WE cui is having a little problem with my set up. Please do port to 1.7.10 if it is not already! Thank you!

Yeah, it works fine with 1.7.2. The reason for the extra backwards compatibility to 1.6 were packet protocol changes between 1.6 and 1.7.

Posted Jul 8, 2014I see you added a backwards compatibility for 1.6.4. Does that mean this should work with 1.7.2?

Posted Jun 14, 2014DUDE!! I had been waiting for CUI to come back for so long! I had totally lost faith and just used world edit without it but I can get really anal sometimes and this has totally made my day! Thank you so much!
I love your brain for making this plugin!
P.S. I wish I could stroke it gently...

WorldEdit v6 isn't supported yet. Just use the latest stable build of WorldEdit and it should work.

Posted May 19, 2014Hello,
I used the worldeditcui mod all the time until 1.7.5+ came out and liteloader is falling behind. I know most developers hate doing this but I would like to request if you will to make this plugin compatible with:
1.6.4 minecraft
5.5.8 worldedit
I tried it with the above but it doesn't work, I know, but I tried. Thanks if you consider this. Oh the reason I am on 1.6.4 is because I am running a Pixelmon Server which the highest is 1.6.4.

The dev build of WorldEdit isn't supported yet. You should just try it with the latest official release.

The BukkitDev staff has finally approved my update that contains this feature. If you run v1.2 or newer you have a new option in the configuration file that lets you change the particle type (see Configuration section above).

Agreed, I think it is an invisible slime head that is named.

Last time I checked holographic plugins used nametags on invisible entities. These are rendered in a way that they always rotate with the players position to be readable, which makes them useless for lines that need to have a steady position in space. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think holographs can deliver the kind of solid lines CUI has.
