Description
This plugin is intended to efficiently provide a border for each of your worlds, which only people granted special bypass access are allowed beyond. These borders can be round/elliptic or square/rectangular. As the plugin has been written with performance as the most important goal, it should have no performance impact on your server. Additional world trimming and filling commands are available as well.
Older plugins which originally inspired the creation of this one: rBorder and BorderGuard.
Features
- You can set up a separate border for each world, but only one border per world.
- You can have either round/elliptic or square/rectangular borders. Square/rectangular borders are slightly higher performance, round/elliptic borders make for nicer display maps. Different worlds can have different border shapes if you so choose.
- Configuration and border setup is done completely using commands in-game or through the server console. No need to ever edit the config file directly.
- Support for all permission plugins which interface with Bukkit's built-in "superperms" permission system.
- You can fully generate (fill) your world all the way to the border, filling in any missing chunks, including a configurable buffer zone just outside your border.
- You can trim off any world chunks beyond the border, getting rid of extraneous parts, with a configurable buffer zone left just outside your border.
- You can use a bypass command to allow specific players to go beyond all borders.
- Borders can be automatically displayed in DynMap if you use that plugin.
- All plugin data is automatically saved whenever any borders or settings are changed.
- If a player crosses a border while in a vehicle, the momentum of the vehicle is stopped and it is moved back inside the border with the player.
- When a player is moved back inside a border, they will be moved to a safe vertical location if needed.
- Borders for specific worlds can be set to wrap around instead of just knocking back players who cross the border, instead sending them to the opposite edge of the border.

Of special interest are the Fill command and the Trim command features:

Borders are also displayed automatically by default in DynMap if you have it:

Are you using a custom world generator? I think it was you that was asking about that earlier; maybe there's a problem with it.
Do you have the logged output from the Fill process? Does it complete without error?

Posted Apr 9, 2013umm, im having some weird type of issue where i have a border radius of 12500, but when i type /wb newworld fill 20 208 and confirm it, it only renders a rectangle of 8000 - -8000 on both x and z, and iver tried to do /wb trim after that but it doesnt fill to edge, im using v1.7.0 and heres a link to dynmap. http://darkrealms.mc-unite.com:8123/ (switch to newworld to view) and as for dynmap ive tried both fullrender for that world and radius render so i believe it has something to do with this plugins fill for some odd reason. and if u must know my dynmap version it is 1.6

The flying-friendly knockback applies based on the Player.isFlying() method provided by Bukkit to indicate if they're flying or not. If a plugin provides flight but doesn't interface through that, it just won't work. Sorry.

Posted Apr 7, 2013The new knockback isn't working for me. I'm using Voxel Flight and it's taking me to the ground. It works great in vanilla fly, though.

The fill command uses Bukkit's built-in chunk loading and generation methods, so it should work.

Posted Apr 7, 2013I want to generate a map for a server using something like the Better World Generation Mod using the /fill command, is there a way to do that somehow? (0 experience with server setup here)

Thanks, though I'd like to remind that the elliptical+rectangular border shape support was contributed by IMathe172I (Lang Lukas). I added in some backwards-compatibility code for it and various minor little bits like that afterwards to polish it up a little, but the entire functionality of it was his work.
It was a well written major code contribution, which I am also thankful for. I did at least throw a few BukkitDev reward points his way in thanks though. :-)

Posted Apr 6, 2013Just a big thank you for all of the effort you put into this plugin. I know as a dev it must feel like a lot of whining and complaining and bugs, but your work is really appreciated by millions of people at this point.
So again, thank you!

You can simply set it again with the set command and it will be changed, or choose to only change the radius using the radius command. You can see a list of all borders using /wb list. Really all the info you need is in that very first big link ("Full list of Commands and Permissions") on this page; please go have a look.

Posted Apr 5, 2013We've used this plugin for our creative server since we started it a few months ago, but now we're changing a lot on the server and would like to know if there is a command to edit a border after it is set? or do we remove the border and set a new one?
Can we check the current border size with a command? We only used the commands the one time and never used them again, mostly because we did not want to mess things up. =\
We're now going to be using PlotMe on the server a long with new ranks

I still have no plans to support multiple borders per world, sorry. I thought your earlier question was about a moving rectangular border rather than multiple borders per world.

Posted Apr 4, 2013Hi Brettflan, good job on the recent update with rectangles and ellipses.
May I remind you my question ? In short : when do you plan on adding the ability to make a broder out of combined rectangles (and even circles) ?

Well, that at least explains why it's not showing up on there.
As for the Fill not working, if it gave you any errors, post that. If not, I can only assume it was successful and you should read my note below regarding the possible need to do a fullrender through dynmap to get it to fully update.

That doesn't really make sense, then. You have DynMap border display enabled according to that configuration, but it's not showing on the map you linked.

Posted Apr 1, 2013Released 1.7.0.
Better support for CB 1.5.1, new elliptic/rectangular border shape support, and more. Be sure to read the changelog on the file listing linked above.
Elliptic border shape example, radius 400x150:
Download it from our file list as soon as the BukkitDev team approve it. Apparently linking to file listings which aren't yet approved by the BukkitDev team is no longer allowed; yet another nuisance they've added, but I suppose I should come to expect it.
