World Portal

Table of Contents

Create portals using signs, pressureplates, buttons and more!!

World Portal is a really useful and simple to use plugin to make portals in your server. Players could use the portals to teleport to another location or even to another world. This is also really useful when you have a large server so players could go to other places them self really easy. With World Portal you could even generate and teleport to other worlds, very smoothly with no problems. You could make portals using, buttons, pressure plates, switches and even more. World Portal is the ultimate solution for portals, and even for multi world management.

This video was made by gotgot1995. Please notice that this is an out-dated version of world portal but works almost the same as shown in the video.

Upcomming Features

Mark a place and give it a name so you could easily link portals to it.
Payment system for the portals so the user needs to pay to go through the portal (optional for every portal!)
Easily link two portals to each other
Add a optional delay to the portals to teleport after 3 secconds for example.
Command to create a new world.
Create portals of detector rails, so players could be teleported when they are riding in a minecart on a track.
The optional ability to show a message in the world where the player was teleported to that that player has joined that world.
The optional option that mobs could teleport through portals (using pressureplates for example)

Download

You could download the plugin using the download link on the top-right above the sidebar of this page. Please use the official download links on that page you'll be redirected too and not the bukkit file hosting service.

Installation

Download the plugin
Add the WorldPortal.jar file and the folder 'World Portal' from the downloaded .zip file to the /plugin folder of the minecraft server. Also add the files inside the World Portal folder to the plugins/World Portal folder.
Add the permission lines if you have a permissions system; (Look at the permissions paragraph underneeth)
Start your server, and create your portals!

TimVisée, when will you release the next version ? Im lookin forward to be able to update PermissionsEX with WorldPortal... If you don't have the time to get the huge update soon, could you please just release a version compatible with the lastest PermissionsEX ?

Hi, I tried running the latest version on 1.6.2 and it seemed to work fine. I then added in my permissionsEx plug-in and it immediately stopped working and gave me this error: http://pastebin.com/cgZSJxyY Anyone know a fix to this, besides removing PermissionsEx?

Edit: It's not PermissionsEx it's the plug-in itself as it's still not updated. Anyone have an ETA yet as to when it'd be updated?

I have created worlds using Multiverse but when I try to use those worlds in world portals it says they are not there, also when I make a new world with world portals I type normal or nether or end and it says they are wrong. Please fix.

Hey,

Well I'll create a huge update soon. Wich will add a lot of features and functionallity to World Portal, like cooldown and warmups, teleportation fixed, payment and more. Sadly, I don't have any estimated time yet for this update.

What if you update the World Portal files using an FTP client to your server, put the .jar file into the plugins directory. Make sure you put the .jar file there, not the .zip file that you download. You also have to manually add the configuration files which are included in the .zip file. Could you send me an error log if any errors are showing up in the console?

I have multicraft on my host. If I edit anything, even if I just save without editing, then the plugin will not load. If I just try to drop the worldportal.jar with the edited plugin.yml file in my plugin directory, that doesn't doesn't load either. The Multicraft plugin install also installs some plugins incorrectly, but in those cases, I have been able to manually install buy dropping the ".jar" files into the plugin directory.

Any idea how to get around this issue?

World Portal is working fine in 1.6.2 until you update PermissionsEx to last version (that from bukkit-dev). If you downgrade your PeX it will start working. But if you want to WP to work with newest PeX you can fix it like I told in my earlier post.

how did u get urs to work? mine removes the warps after i shut down my server... even if i do the "/wp save"...

There is easy fix for that! 1. Open 'World Portal.jar' 2. Edit file called 'plugin.yml' 3. Add line 'depend: [PermissionsEx]' 4. Save. (Make sure that plugin.yml in jar file was updated)

Its my plugin.yml (works on last spigot 1.6.2, no errors - portals works :) )

Hello, love the plugin, but i am having a bit of an issue, i am using world portal and have multiple worlds, but when i log off the server when i am on world B and log back in it has me at the main spawn which is world A, whic his what is supposed to happen, yet when I log back in I am moved to the coordinates I was at in world B, but in world A, and this happens to be underground. meaning if I wasnt in creative id die. Is there a way to fix this issue? currently I am looking to switch plugins for either the login or for portaling and multiworld and Id just like some information before i do anything.

i have a problem

i have set warps and stuff for signs, but when i shut down my server and go to bed, then re-open it, it doesn't save the warp teleporting to the signs. I have done /wp save a bunch of times before shutting down, but it still doesn't save them...

BuildersPlot plugin does the same thing, it doesn't save the registered plots....
