Useful Snow
Useful Snow adds better snow related mechanics to Minecraft.
- Snowballs create snow patches on the ground where they land when thrown
- Snow is able to be stacked up
- When blocks of snow are placed in water, they turn to ice (this makes it possible to create ice)
- Snowballs have the option to cause damage ( default is half a heart )
- Snowballs have the option to slow a target
- You are now able to collect snow on the ground with your hands
- Anything living thing thats on fire can be put out by throwing snowballs at it
Other features include:
- Permission support
- Everything in the plugin is configurable
- You can disable or enable different components of the plugin.
I have put many hours of work into this plugin and it is my hope than anyone who enjoys the features it brings to their server will donate.

Posted Feb 23, 2016Works wonderfully! I wish you luck with this.
Things you could add:
Reload command (use subcommands, they are easy and look more professional)
Breaking one layer of snow at a time, instead of all layers with at once, or maybe give them the number of snowballs as there are layers.
Add a /snowblock or /sb command that sllows the snowballs to change to snowblocks according to how many snowballs there are, for instance if I have a stack of snowballs and I type /sb, it will give me 16 blocks and no snowballs.
As it is though, it is great! But with a name like "Useful Snow", you can do alot. If you need more ideas, skype me at blue1.skyes or join my server (I am using this in SkyeBlock) at play.blueskyes.us.to
I really do like this. :3 I always thought that snowballs should either be placeable or throwable to make snow. :D

Any suggestions?

Posted Jul 31, 2013You can see the permissions by looking at the plugin.yml inside the jar. Here is what it looks like:

I'm using bPermissions 2.10.5, Java 1.7u9 (x64), Windows 7 (x64) and Ubuntu Server 12.04 (x64)
EDIT 2013-09-13: Also works on CraftBukkit 1.6.2-R1.0 and PermissionsEX 1.20.2, Java 1.7.0_25 (x64)
EDIT 2013-12-10: Also works on CraftBukkit 1.7.2-R0.1 and PermissionsEX 1.20.4, Java 1.7.0_45 (x64)
Request: Could this be modified to respect WorldGuard regions such as not being able to place snow if the player cannot build in that region?

Posted Mar 4, 2013I would like to be able to disable this on a per world basis. Would you mind adding this feature? Normally I would use the WG flag but it would appear your plugin doesn't emit an event for it.

I actually really wanted to add this feature. Much more complicated than it sounds but I still want to try it. If you don't want to wait for me to update this plugin you can try SnoGro which does almost what you are saying (although I havent had any luck with it)
