Health Changes
Health Changes
Health no longer regenerates from having an almost full hunger bar, health can only be regained with golden apples and health potions.
Does not use the gamerule for stopping regeneration to allow for permission based regeneration
Playerlist shows players health level using scoreboards, player health also shown under their name ingame.
Vanilla 0 health bug fixed
Red name for low health
Yellow name for middle health
Green name for high health
Blue name for players with non player list health permissions

Golden apple recipe is now the default recipe in Minecraft!
Notch apple recipe disabled by default and ghast tears do not drop (stops regeneration potions)
Harder recipe for glistering melon and golden carrot
Brewing of splash potions and tier 2 potions disabled by default
Can craft a golden head that heals for 4 hearts instead of the usual 2 hearts for a golden apple, amount regen configurable
Absorption from golden apples removed

Ghasts drop golden ingots in replacement of ghast tears, makes regen potions uncraftable
Players drop their head on death, PvP only flag available. Tries to place the head in the world on a fence but will drop as an item if it can't

Enderpearls cause no damage on teleport (can still take fall damage from bad throws)
Starting a message with 'P ' will make your chat anonymous to everyone on the server that doesn't have permission to see names (default op)
e.g. Saying 'P This message is anonymous!' will show up like this:

Allows the world to generate with a bedrock wall to contain players within a certain distance
(Use of WorldBorder still recommended in conjunction with the borders if necessary), different shapes available

Thats exactly how to install it. Default behaviour is to stop regen though, do you have other plugins installed/using non defualt world e.t.c.?

Posted Jun 7, 2012Sorry I am new to plug-ins and I don't see a "how to install" section. I tried putting the Ultrahardcore.jar in the plugins folder but it doesn't seem to be working properly there. Player's health shows via [TAB] but I am still able to regenerate health with the default config. I can only assume that I placed the jar wrongly or installed it incorrectly. Hope somebody can help. Thanks!

Most of the players who participate in my UHC games get really frustrated with invisible borders and many times it has led to them taking damage or even dying so as you can tell we are very eager to start using visible borders.
I absolutely love the "eye of ender" idea but I have to agree with saturnineNL with the risk vs cost etc. although you could easily build a little fort to take them on but trying to obtain blaze rods might actually prolong the game. I personally try to encourage PVP over basic surviving / camping until the end, infact it's in my rules that the goal is to overcome your opponent via PVP. The fact that the future version will include gold ingot drops from players is genius and will take the Ultra Hardcore to new levels!
As for all this tracking discussion, I was using a plugin for this for a while and it had the perfect format but it turns out it was giving out false information half the time.

Yeah I want to avoid the whole teleport thing as it's a little jarring and isnt exactly what I want, that and rebuilding a wall whenever the radius changes would cause a large amount of lag and probably cause the server to stop. Enderman are much easier to fight on the surface, pillar up 3 blocks and look at them and they'll be underneath the pillar unable to hit you and you can hit them with your sword, blaze are the harder part of the eye of ender in UHC

i use worldborder and a timed plugin command with a delay of 600 sec , first run gives a warning , second run sets the border with a smaller radius. and that repeats. WB teleports people to a "safe" place if people happen to be outside the limit. With visible borders it is an issue because you need to rebuild that wall.
eye of an ender is a good idea, except endermen are way too dangerous to attack to get an eye. risk vs cost is too high, but if you can manage to make that better balanced its an excelent tracking device.

Shrinking borders is a good idea that's been suggested a few times but comes with its own problems like what if someone is on the border when a person is killed? They are then outside the new area. I then thought that I could give them x amount of minutes before they start taking damage to get inside the new area but then that has the issue of them not knowing where the border is. With visible borders they are only generated when a chunk is generated so moving them isn't really an option.
I've had a few suggestions for tracking players, the one I like the most is making eye of enders track towards the nearest player as that encourages the player to stay on the surface (to find enderman easy) and to go to the nether where players are closer together (for the blaze powder). The only problem I'm having with it right now is that bukkit doesn't seem to have an event for eye of ender throwing right now so I'll have to either wait til that is fixed or delve into the server code myself to see if its possible.

Posted May 28, 2012First of all , i have to praise you for this excelent plugin, its the core of my uhc matches and i am very happy with it. I couldnt find a place where i could suggest improvements and if other people already suggested them i appologize.
Shrinking borders: Every minecraft day (or any timed interval) the borders get smaller by a configurable amount. This way people are forced to move on and come closer to each other, wich makes the game more action packed.
people can track eachother for a price (items or money) , but instead of showing the names it shows a player number that only the player itself knows. for example player 4 types /track player 1 and it gives back the coordinates (x and z) or a heading and a distance. In chat a broadcast will pop up and says player 1 -> you are being hunted.
I have been able to use these mechanisms through a bunch of different plugins and complicated configs/interactions with eachother. But I would really like to see it embedded in this awesome plugin.
