Posted Sep 30, 2013This has been working well but there is a bug in that you can place a minecart on any surface, you can only move on the blocks you select in the config, but it lets you place a cart on anything, the problem with this is that it will let players glitch through walls, get to places they should not be able to get to..
They can get into houses in Towny that are locked etc.
Can you change it so that the minecart will only place on the blocks selected in the config please :)

Install ProtocolLib
@GarretSidzaka
Sadly the same goes for any vehicle in minecraft. The problem is that many plugin devs who include teleports dont think to EJECT the player first and subsequently the tp doesn't work. However to get around this you can change to a better tp plugin or use ucars teleport blocks.

Posted Sep 30, 2013your plugin is a crucial addition to bukkit!! I will use it for life!!
feature request: teleportation completely and utterly does not work while in a car. this is bad because people cannot be teleported by staff, cannot go to spawn, and when they fall out of my floating race track, the "oops" portal that will teleport you back to start if you fall off, does nothing and the car rider falls thru the multiverse portal area, un ported.
thanks keep up the good work, and im basing a new type of movement off that help you gave me ;)

You must be doing it wrong, as they work for everyone else. Follow the tutorial carefully. And make sure the coords are X, Y, Z,(new lines between) not any other order! :D

Oh well, it is what it is. Nothing major, just an inconsistency that I thought I would mention.
I still can't get teleport blocks to work, but that is another small matter.

Blame the minecraft physics engine if you will, the jump block only modifies the upwards velocity, rest is the game. But the car does go further, but only when the round falls down away from the block.

At regular speed with defaults in config, a jump goes quite high AND quite far. When going fast, the jump up is small and the car doesn't move forward very much, which like I said earlier, seems counter-intuitive. The car's speed should have no effect on the height if the iron block gives it an absolute jump height (60, by default), but the faster forward momentum should make the car jump forward farther. Perhaps the jump length should be proportional to it's forward momentum? To me, ideally, the car should jump higher and faster with increased forward momentum, and lower and shorter with decreased forward momentum.

Um, no... This is what's supposed to happen as the car jumps FURTHER, but with less height gain (car stops jumping when hits ground), so good for long drops, etc. However when a car is going fast all the 'engines' energy is going into forward momentum and less upwards. Because of the second law of thermodynamics, this means the car will jump further, but not as high. :D

Posted Sep 27, 2013I'm full of posts lately.
I notice that when I am moving at regular speed and hit an iron block, the cart jumps quite high. When you go over a diamond block to get a speed boost before you go over the iron block, the jump is very small. This seems to be the opposite of what should happen according to physics. A faster car should jump higher than a slower car.

This is the health system, it is showing that you did 50 damage to the car, and the bit in brackets is the remaining health of the vehicle.

When you looked at your server.log to debug the problem (you *did* do that, right?), did it say anything about uCars?
