The Hunger Games was both a great book, and a decent movie (though it did fall short of the book, but what movie doesn't?), so I've (with a lot of help from others) put together a plugin that tries to replicate that experience. It is nowhere near done, but what I have so far is playable, and you can hopefully see where I intend this to go.

The Simple Game:
/tsg start hg <time in seconds>: Starts a game /tsg start hg 120
/tsg join: Join the started game
/tsg sign: Place a sign, enter this command, then click it
The Config:
devtag: Whether or not I get a little [TSGDev] tag with my name when I join your server
award_prizes: Whether or not to give players prizes if they win
clearplayerinventory: Whether or not players should have to have an empy inventory to join (not enabled)
can_build: Whether building in the game world is blocked or not
build_walls: Whether to limit the arena size or not
immune_period: How long players are immune at the start of the games
arena_size: Size of the arena per player, +50, +100, +150 respectively
use_economy: Whether or not to pay players for wins/bets/sponsorships with economy money (not enabled)
sponsor_money_item: Item that represents money if not economy (not enabled)
money_name: What the plugin should call the currency in its player messages (not enabled)
sponsor_cost_multiplier: By how much the sponsor should be upcharged (not enabled)
allowed_sponsor_items: Items allowed to be sent to players from sponsors (not enabled)
remove-op: Whether or not to de-op players in the games if they're op, op status is re-added after the games.

Oh okay... I don't really enjoy adding groups and perms but its fine I can do it... also my friends and I think its a bit cheap that you get a diamond sword at the beginning! Can you get rid of that because its really REALLY annoying when the one who gets that sword is the only one who wins! If you can't is there a way I can edit what items spawn in the chests? If there is I really want to know!

The idea with that is that you don't give players permission to enter the world before the game begins. We could make blocks unbreakable before the game starts, but I don't want to block admins from modifying things in the world. On top of that, in a normal game, the world is deleted moments before you enter the games, so even if they went in and broke blocks, all changes would be removed.

I saw this already sorry hahaha as I put below again I have another idea! Here is a quote- "Can you make it so no one can break before a game begins... I see that you can enter the arena before the game begins..... and break blocks... haven't played a game yet so I don't know if the map resets..."

The plugin does have an auto-start feature. If you use "/tsg auto start [time between games]" it will start again right after the current game is finished. A time limit on games, however, is a good idea. Also, the world does generate anew each game... Every time it is different, unless you use the -nogen flag.

Posted Jun 19, 2012Hey this plugin would be 10000000000000000000000000 times better if you made it so that the game started automatically every hour and if the previous game is still in progress it give a message saying that the game took too long... You see I'm not online through the night to turn games on constantly... this would make this plugin AMAZING!
It would also be nice if a new world generated every game :D

Can you make it so no one can break before a game begins... I see that you can enter the arena before the game begins..... and break blocks... haven't played a game yet so I don't know if the map resets...

Suggestions are always welcome! Right now we're working hard on fixing bugs and making sure the core features are up to par, but we do plan on adding much more configurability for all of the variables.

- Abilities to choose game variables such as
~ Block destruction/placement in arena
~ Hunger (On/Off)
~ Weather
~ Events (& types)
~ Win conditions (TDM or LMS)
- Sponsors will be great (know you adding, but make sure it gets there!)
- Ability to be a 'Spectator' on game start AND after a contestant dies (they become a Spectator)

This is very strange, if I generate a world via multiverse pvp is on, but TSG Mod is generating them as no pvp for some reason :S World guard aint the issue.
Edit: i imported the world into multiverse and PVP started working :S Would there be anything you can do if multiverse is comflicting? After starting another game, it has gone back to no pvp. My server crashed very shortly after too giving this error http://pastebin.com/36gD5DqT

Posted May 22, 2012Did you add an immune period or something? On my main server were PVP is turned on, the world which TSG creates, which I called "hg", you cannot pvp on it at all.

The nice thing about the TSG world generator is that it is not a generator at all in the traditional sense. Itlays the features on top of the existing terrain. Like Richard said, it would be interesting to see TSG on Skylands or something.

Yes, it will work just fine with Multiverse. You don't need to set a generator going from TSG to Multiverse, or the other way around, but you could have some cool games if you generated a world through Multiverse with a special generator and ran a TSG game on it.

eg. creating a world with tsg and import it into multiverse (and set the worldgen to the tsg's one) or the other way.
