Tree Feller
Tree Feller v1.2
Last updated January 8, 2014
General
TreeFeller is a plugin that allows you to harvest trees at a much faster rate. It allows you to break the bottom most block of a tree which will "fell" the tree. It has multiple modes allowing for simple tree trunk felling all the way to destroying an entire forest.
Usage
You can chop an entire tree down by sneaking / standing (depending on your config) and using an axe (or any item you choose to put in the config) to cut the lowest block the tree.
This plugin supports mode switching. For example, if you have the permissions
treefeller.use treefeller.mode.full
It will default to classic, but you can switch your mode with commands. Check out the commands for more info.

"Also does this consume tools durability normally?"
Currently, yes. I will be adding a mode which will also only lower the durability once per hit. I'm currently rewriting this entire plugin.

Posted Dec 20, 2013@semirotta - It works on 1.7 so it should work on 1.6. - Yes it's possible. - Tool usage depends on how many blocks were broken total.

Posted Aug 20, 20131.6.2 compatible?
possible to give permission treefeller.use for normal members and treefeller.mode.fullnoleaves for donator members so the normal members cannot cut jungle trees and other big trees down in one shot but the donator members can?
Also does this consume tools durability normally?

I don't intend on supporting a bunch of different plugins.

@SirCheesington
Please, don't ask me how to setup your permissions file. No matter what permissions handler you're using, there is a ton of documentation on how to set it up and use it.
@Theorie
When I get the time, I'm going to try PermissionsBukkit with a similar setup as yours and see what results I get.

Here it is
For my understanding, it should only destroy logs (no leaves) with this config. But it does whole trees including leaves and whole chains of trees (up to an amount of 1000 blocks - as configured).
If i use only treefeller.use permission it has exactly the same behaviour.. Don't know why. D:
Thanks for your effort! :)

Posted Jul 10, 2013I put the treefeller.use into the permissions.yml file and it still does not work. Do you know what the problem is?

Can you post your permissions file to something like pastebin?

Posted Jul 8, 2013Thanks for your fast response.
But the permission-modes do not work for me.. D':
Irrespektive of what permissions i use, it destroys whole chains anyways.
I've never used (and needed) a permissions plugin und installed permissionsBukkit to get control of treefeller behaviour. I tested several permission configs and none of them worked for me.
I tried to unset the perm treefeller.use and it did what it should - nothing - can't destroy trees in whole anymore.
But if I set perm treefeller.use it is destroying large chains of connected trees, ignoring whatever modes i set in permissions.
I even tried treefeller.mode.fullnoleaves but it is still doing chain destruction. If two trees are connected by leaves, both of them are destroyed.
I considered reducing the max-blocks setting, but i guess that would result in half-destroyed jungletrees.. ^^
I have no clue what to try now. Seems like i have to live with large clearances... In spite of my misery i still love this plugin. <3
PS: Sry 4 bad grammar. it's not my native language.. ;o)

Classic mode only destroys logs vertically, and as soon as it doesn't find another log block above it, it stops.
treefeller.mode.classicleaves is probably what you're looking for. I believe that does exactly what you described.

Posted Jul 5, 2013Great plugin!
But i can't find information what "classic" mode is doing exactly. (on permissions page, you're only explaining, that classic mode is given by default from treefeller.use permission :o)
Is there a mode, that smashes single trees only, but including leaves, even if connected to other trees? I am reluctant to destroy jungletrees. ^^

I tested this back on Tekkit for 1.2.5 for custom blocks, and it worked just fine to me. Perhaps your configuration / IDs aren't correct?
Can you give me your configuration on pastebin, and also what mods you're using?

Posted Jun 24, 2013Is there any way to make this work with other IDs from other mods/plugins? I added them to the config but it doesn't work. I am using 1.5.2, TF 1.1b3, with the latest CB.
Thanks!

If there is a big forest and you use full mode, it might lag for a few seconds if you have a slow server. Otherwise, there shouldn't be much of a problem.
