The Trashcan
Updated plugin can be found here:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/the-trashcan.51227/
The Trashcan 0.3
Trashcan is a simple plugin that turns those useless Cauldrons into something you can actually use...
A Trashcan!
Just craft a trashcan like this.

Then place it and right click it.

Drop your un-wanted items in it and they will disappear forever!
Permission: thetrashcan.use
Updates
- 0.3 Added Permission support. thetrashcan.use
- 0.2 Added an easy way to make the Cauldron still usable. (Thanks Algent)

Posted Feb 28, 2016This plugin works fine with Spigot, I'm using it with Minecraft 1.8.9. The message you saw was just a notice, I'll fix it in the next version.

Posted Apr 3, 2014I'd like to request an option if I may.
That the cauldron can only be used as a trash can if it has a block on top of it (I place a glass block on all of mine anyway.
I also use supercauldrons and with both plugins installed, if you try to fill a cauldron with water it overflows, and floods the area. (Don't know if this can be fixed)

Posted Aug 18, 2013A nice little feature would be donation mode, where instead of deleting items it holds them in case another player wants the items.
maybe even add a pickup radius, after 2 minutes of an item within the radius is not picked up, the trash can will pick it up on its own
Just a thought

Posted Sep 7, 2012Am I missing something? I installed the plugin, but can make a cauldron using cobble, still need to use iron. when I right click the cauldron, nothing happens? Bukkit shows it is enabled. Any ideas? I am running Bukkit-1.3.2 build 2359.

Posted Aug 16, 2012Hello!
We thought your plugin was so useful we decided to make a video about it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGOKrxFTlvs
We apologise for Andrew's audio quality, his recording software recorded using the wrong microphone for some reason.
But yes, feel free to use the video how you like :P

Thanks, glad you like it.
and yeah I could add that for sure. I wasn't sure if anyone actually used the Cauldrons, but this should give people no reason not to install it.

Posted Aug 10, 2012I went here after remembering about the talk about a Trashcan named plugin :p. So your plugin is so simply awesome it's :D.
Could you add some checks for items in hand ? To set it to ignore water-buckets and empty-bottles. So it avoid the popup on normal use.
It should be something like:
