TerrainControl is an advanced world generator. Through various configuration files it gives the user control over almost every aspect of Minecraft terrain generation, with no knowledge of Java required. It can be used on Bukkit or Forge servers and on singleplayer with Forge. TerrainControl is the successor to the old PhoenixTerrainMod, which was based on the popular BiomeTerrainMod.

Metrics
As of Terrain Control 2.4.13, the plugin sends some stats to mcstats.org, a service by Hidendra and others. You can view the stats here. Terrain Control won't upload your configs, it will only send your BiomeMode along with some information of your computer. You can toggle it off by setting opt-out to true in the metrics config file. More information is available on this wiki page.

How to use

TerrainControl is more complex than most Bukkit plugins, so it may take a while to get into - but the results are worth it. If you want to create your own world, be sure to check our documentation. If you have done some reading and still have problems using TerrainControl, just post to our forums and we'll try to figure it out.

I did that and I was still getting them in my below post config.
As massive masses I mean not as tiny islands or shores
In the biome for these I made it "landsize" of like 2 -3 and rarity of like 45 - 60, Yet I seem to be getting all ocean with ice all patchs all over it.

Posted Dec 4, 2011I seem to have broken something lol, Now I am getting either all of one biome or all ocean with ice patch's
I seriously do not understand the new way the global sizes thing works. I mean rarity, GenerationDepth vs landsize.
Its telling me in GenerationDepth that small biomesize are from smaller landsize but when I do this I get oceans if I decrease rarity I get frozen oceans. I mean I have rarity in some biome at things like 30 as I thought Rarity only controls how frequent it will try and place the biome.
as for the landsize thing in biome configs I have some at 4 6 3 2. Coz the mushroom biome had a low number I figured that it would mean that it was a smaller biome and it rarity was low, I know that in vanilla mushroom biome is rare so Figured I match around same for others I wanted rare,
I have been trying to create a mix of LARGE continents with surrounding islands but I'm not going to well and won't until I get some decent data or info on how to properly control all these new settings.
The Comments in the config are dang vague, I mean I don't think English is the native language used in the comments used to describe them, They need to be explained in depth in the comments and simplified so that non developers who do not understand generation can work it out. That or we need SOLID documentation with images of different effects that will happen when u start using some of the more advanced features.
Like I tried to make "Frozen Plains" and "Frozen Ocean" part a inland of taiga biome basically Is set this up so that "Frozen Plains" would generate as a island of "taiga" and the "frozen ocean" as a shore line but I think that failed hard.
I have a "generation depth" on the global file at 20 and the "landsize" at like 15 I thought this would do what it used to do before if I had "landsize" near max it would have less ocean more land then I could then adjust it in biome to make biomes as islands but this does not seem to be the case and now I have dug a hole I cannot figure out how to get out from.

Oh O.o... i will fix this.
@Fr0zenFr0g When you create world TC make default config near notch generator..
@PeterA94 Yes i know about this .. First: i cant make configurable biome code with what looks like notch generation with default settings :( Second: weather and swamp lands can be fixed only by client plugin .. Third: I will add mode "With out custom biome generator" in next test version

Posted Dec 4, 2011Khorn, i have a problem.
The terrain generated by the vanilla generator have little to no similarities compared to TC's generation with default configuration, even though i use the same seed.
Comparison:
http:img593.imageshack.us/img593/9539/mpworld5mnormalnorth.png
Also, the vanilla biome areas seems to affect the TC map regarding weather and also the swamp grasscolour. For example the areas where the vanilla swamps are placed, the colour of the grass in the TC map will be swampy. Same thing goes for rainy and snowy areas. :/

Thanks for letting me know. PTM173 does exactly what I wanted it to. The only problems is that it hasn't been updated for 1.0.0 yet. I don't need all the customizations of TerrainControl since all I want it for is accurate 1.7.3 terrain generation which TerrainControl is not doing for me. I blame all the variables in the config file for that.
Which leads me to the following questions: Khoorn is it possible to turn off all customizations so that accurate 1.7.3 terrain is generated? Can we also turn off swamp biomes?
Unfortunately if your 1.7.3 terrain generator doesn't match that of the original Minecraft 1.7.3 Server terrain generator then, for me, your plugin is pretty pointless.

I pasted the rest of the creation in a thread in TC's forum over here http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/terrain-control/forum/28986-custom-biome-issue/
I updated to TC 1.2.1 and got a different error which is over there as well.

Just make a set of custom bo2 files that consist of only tree trunks and make them only spawn in your wasteland biome.
