TerrainControl is an advanced world generator. Through various configuration files it gives the user control over almost every aspect of Minecraft terrain generation, with no knowledge of Java required. It can be used on Bukkit or Forge servers and on singleplayer with Forge. TerrainControl is the successor to the old PhoenixTerrainMod, which was based on the popular BiomeTerrainMod.

Metrics
As of Terrain Control 2.4.13, the plugin sends some stats to mcstats.org, a service by Hidendra and others. You can view the stats here. Terrain Control won't upload your configs, it will only send your BiomeMode along with some information of your computer. You can toggle it off by setting opt-out to true in the metrics config file. More information is available on this wiki page.

How to use

TerrainControl is more complex than most Bukkit plugins, so it may take a while to get into - but the results are worth it. If you want to create your own world, be sure to check our documentation. If you have done some reading and still have problems using TerrainControl, just post to our forums and we'll try to figure it out.

Posted Mar 15, 2012Hey guys, I just wanted to ask, if you have the Spout server software on your screens. The are writing completely from scratch and I think it would be awesome if you could bring in your expertise in world generation and the modding of the WGENS, because Spout (and possible future versions of your plugin, of course) could really profit from it! Just take a look if you haven't already: http://forums.spout.org/threads/a-look-at-vanilla-world-generation.1780/
edit: So, when will the SSP version be back?

Hi Khoorn,
why did You delet the bukkit link to TC dev Download?
This is the only one I use and need if it´s updated.
(SSP Version isn´t used by myself because SSP is not necessary in my view.. and as has been told, the Link to the SSP version is broken and gives a day before just a 20 kb "broken Download"...?)
And even important:
If You fix the Download, please also write (preferentially in big letters ;-) ... ), that the last versions of TC-Mod are now for MC 1.2.3, to avoid this often asked basic questions ... good idea or not?
.........
Regarding the Tutorial:
ledhead900 didn´t like my Tutorial Website style ;-)
He / we decided, that he will set up that Web based Wiki and I give him the contend for that Tutorial...
But I also didn´t think of the obvious possibility to use the existing Wiki here and just upgrade it in many parts (f.i. the exist of broken Links there has always been unintelligible to myself...)
So as I feel that any useage / moderation of this web based wiki platforms is a real pain, I will stay at my plain, oldstyle html website for presenting the content of the tutorial Update.
This Content may be copied to Your Wiki (or any other Wiki) as far as a Link to my page will be set and the author (mysource) is named ;-)
At least, my intension is not to present ready to use worlds and so on (...that wouldn´t be a tutorial), but rather to show how everybody could create an own world to his wishes using TC-Mod.
To guide people to this point, I feel the only way and style will be, to do this step by steps and in a configuration of the Tutorial, that "forces" the Reader to went from start to the end by reading all of the bottom-up pages / content. (just to avoid all the ever same questions here and there...;-)
That´s roughly what I can offer to do.
(the most things are ready and now "just" to set up in an understandable form to the web in the next days / weeks)
I will send You an Email with some special questions to some points of the Mod soon.
Best regard
mysource

Awesome work as always, and the reason was simple Mysource started work on a RAW html based website but I thought that this would not do, as our combined goal was to make it easy for everyone who does know a thing or two to be able to update the wiki and add new pages to it "moderated of course"
but at the same time git wiki lacks on few areas of customization where with the wiki we use now its the exact same software Wikipedia and minecraft official community wiki uses and can write html and javascript directly into wiki's like these and also supports plugin extensions for the wiki much like a harder to learn wordpress site. In short its just in the long run better as it provides all the necessary backing to support multi user contribution.
Keep in mind that right now MainPage has lots of place holder html like the logo's and those 48 number and so on are all actual png file placeholders ready to use as same is with the TCLOGOHERE up the top, now you have released a new version as reco I should get the download link code from here for dev bukkit download version to replace existing dev version link on main page, feel free to register and view source I will make you admin just like mysource is as we can protect page from edits from non admins :) and Main page is one of them.

Posted Mar 14, 2012This is a really nice plugin, I use it when making hardcore maps for my server. I like to add custom nether biomes with netherrack surfaces, lots of fire and lava and dungeons. I tried adding custom dungeons, but bo2 files don't hold tile entity data for mob spawners, so unless I want to build Porkopolis I can't make mob spawners. I notice you want to be able to use schematics as bo2 files, and schematics can hold tile entity data. Would that change allow us to place mob spawners on custom maps?
Ultimately building custom dungeons similar to strongholds or nether forts would be very nice, but also very challenging. I can't think of any way to approach the problem other than building rooms as cubic cells and storing the schematics, then each type of cell can connect to other types of cells on one of their 6 faces. This could work, but would require the user to build several cell types to have a large enough pool to draw from to make interesting dungeons.
ALSO: the link the SSP version doesn't work, github gives 404 error.

Posted Mar 14, 2012New Terrain Control Wiki Site - WIP
If anyone here has any experience with WIKI feel free to drop by and give Mysource and myself a hand.
Now it is far from usable at this stage but progress is being made one step at a time and as with all wiki's this is a community based one and FACTUAL, Minded edits are freely allowed to take place to help improve it.
At a much later date we may even allow servers that run this plugin to submit links to the wiki for their worlds online image, as well as simple shutout to their server login address. For those interested here is where you can find it. http://tchandbook.educatewiki.com/wiki/Main_Page
Notice: The more hands on deck the faster we can consolidate helpful tutorials and world setup instructions all in one place!!!!!, I know its early to announce this but I just wanted to throw it out here now to both gain interest and possibly new contributors to help the development along.

Hi,
as You could READ before, it seems to be a bug and Khoorn is just at the moment chicking this!
Regarding the negative values....I can´t see anything regarding biome SIZE, or not?
It´s all about height and form and ... just what is told by the always present help !!! lines in every config, just made nearly perfect by Khooorn in default.
Fazit:
Always the same with many people, refusing to READ (start with the help line in configs, extending to the available Tutorial and then using common sens and try and error testing)
I think that neary everything has been written here before and for simple coherences look at the (old) TUTORIAL !
I hope the upcomming new Tutorail will be USED / READ more as it seem now with the old but still valid one.
Sorry that I have to write this, but seem to stay unfortunately true.
@fonduedaredevil:
just wrongt too...it´s to use since ever to READ at top of every page here:
worlds:
your_world_name:
generator: TerrainControl
@godgodgodgo:
by the way, You should tell here everybody what has been Your fault not getting the map with the "standart_world". (and not complainig about minor BlockID´s... ;-)...)
... even a fault is of value ... and if it´s only to show how not to do something ... ;-)
Best regard

Posted Mar 13, 2012I've been fiddling around with TC for a couple weeks now, building a biomeconfig set for a new SMP world. With both client and bukkit versions, villages do not seem to generate.
I've traversed many deserts/plains on probably 200+ generated worlds, and have yet to see one village. Strongholds and mineshaft seems to be working properly.
Edit: Creating a world of nothing but plains/deserts and flying aimlessly in creative still has produced zero villages. With the default world gen I can find a village in a new world within five minutes almost every time.
