TerrainControl is an advanced world generator. Through various configuration files it gives the user control over almost every aspect of Minecraft terrain generation, with no knowledge of Java required. It can be used on Bukkit or Forge servers and on singleplayer with Forge. TerrainControl is the successor to the old PhoenixTerrainMod, which was based on the popular BiomeTerrainMod.

Metrics
As of Terrain Control 2.4.13, the plugin sends some stats to mcstats.org, a service by Hidendra and others. You can view the stats here. Terrain Control won't upload your configs, it will only send your BiomeMode along with some information of your computer. You can toggle it off by setting opt-out to true in the metrics config file. More information is available on this wiki page.

How to use

TerrainControl is more complex than most Bukkit plugins, so it may take a while to get into - but the results are worth it. If you want to create your own world, be sure to check our documentation. If you have done some reading and still have problems using TerrainControl, just post to our forums and we'll try to figure it out.

It's one of the most surreal landscapes around. It's as if you actually woke up stranded on an island. There's beaches around the islands, flattened plains, and snowy hilly biomes around. Also, there's tons of ocean water surrounding the islands.

Hi,
did You ever or before achive to get MC / bukkit work okay?
(Seems to be still a Problem with Your Java Setup)
I have both (32 + 64 bit) Java´s installed atmy PC, the only working way, as far as I know.
You don´t need the 7 Version, 6 ist okay too...but make agin a clean Install of Java (32 bit...or do You have 64 bit PC / Windows at all?) and it should work anyway.
...but I´m not the "Java-Setup" Specialist here...mainly because I never had some problems with this so far ;-) ... (Other here can help much better with this problem)

Hi,
thanks, but it´s not my tool, it´s Khoorn´s tool ;-)
I´m only a player "at the guitar" like others too ... and there are for sure much more epic worlds out there (I´ve seen some in private mails).
We all are "eye-animals" focused on visual inputs.
(To show something, is much better even for answering questions as all the theory)
So, nobody can blame himself if showing his creations here, just getting a win-win situation ;-)

I think most of the users cant handle your tool correctly and never got some special cool worlds. =) Its hard to post pictures of maps if u see how epic yours are looking.

Why hiding Yours ?

Hi,
look at Your "old" settings", try to apply them as close as possible into the new configs, load Your old world and see if there are to much "steps" or similar map errors occuring.
To border the old map and use it as it is, should be no big problem at all.
But why using an old map?
The new possibilitys in map creation abd the availibility of bo2´s are much better then ever...

Hey that is exactly what I am after, but I won't be using it until 1.2 you see when terrain control is updated and all to support it that is what I essentially was asking can that be done and converted so that those islands are way above the clouds almost out of view I have tested new snapshot and my god, easily the best and most functional update in the past four.
The new snap should would allow me to make those like in the pic but completely almost out of view at surface of the world until you climb up past the clouds, and then you have a whole new world with MUCH room left over for 60 block high towers.
Shame there is no new tools for bo2 or schematic to bo2 that makes me sad.
I was thinking how do you think a Bo2 island would work ?

Hi,
yes, I agree with many things (Apple ;-) f.i....)
.. and I would never underestimate You (or someone else) ... ;-))
From all You´ve written I could see one thing:
You want to buiild above the clouds / + 128.
This isn´t possible now as You know.
There is a Mod out, but I never get this to work in conjunction with the more important used Mods in my setup. (and not really important for myself).
...but if You want this:
... You can get it right now with the customHeightControl settings.
Regarding the mentioned (by You) MC 1.2 "Update" ... it´s today only a dev version as far as I know, or not?
I`ve made a second vulcano.bo2 and this will be different / better.
(it´s spawning here at a 70% chance at stone + sand in Desert,Exreme Hills,Hell,Sky,Ice Mountains biomes)
DOWNLOAD (rightclick, save as)
@Jythri too
The BetterBOB Tool is lacking some things, yes.
Real zoomable and turnable 3 D Preview, ALL the actual blockIDs (like in case of moving lava, I have to change by Notepad and by hand time consumig after creation often.....;-(
...and, and ...;-)
Let´s see what is upcomming in the future with the whole MC / bukkit stuff.
And one point is for sure:
I will never go the way with any Update or future version, if I dislike it.
I easy could stay with the now available Minecraft stuff for the rest of my life :-))

We're still stuck with a poor tool.
What I REALLY want is a working .schematic to .Bo2 convertor. Then, we can build in MINECRAFT, use WorldEdit to select and export a schematic, convert to .bo2, and then tweak the metadata settings.
NEED!

Cheers, But don't underestimate me, I do look thru the configs I knew what setting it was I just did not know how to fine tune it and what numbers made up a whole layer. I thought it was 2500.00 and each set was a layer but I'm not sure.
Thanks for the info I had a test with the 1.2 update and I have to say wowzers, not only is fps better in 1.2 the mobs are not as stupid, and the new chunk format actually uses less bandwidth.
I will always agree you though about the modding API that is all we have wanted for years now is just a proper method for client to download mods from server and store the mods to be loaded per server so that we can finally see true server sided mods and anyone can play on with vanilla clients untouched manually. IMHO so far Mojang for the indie community are what Apple are for the device community, Every bloody version we need to "jailbreak" the client only difference is with Apple I don't need to mod the server to play my jailbroken apps online.
But I truly think they have stalled because Notch knows he wont be king shit once modders have free control over the games source and can distribute mods efficiently from server to client. From a business perspective that's not a bad one but it can also backfire and lose fanbase due to lack of modding support in a game that is screaming for it.
I'm not going write yet another rant about this but I will just say this one last thing, If they spent half as much time working on backend features for client and server as they have with the past 2 updates they would have finished the API by now and we would all be playing better than wolves and industrial craft + moes creatures and Aeather over MP with no vanilla client mucking around for new users.
EDIT As to why I would like to decrease 1 layer in 1.2
I wish to have under could layer and above cloud layer, so that some biome can be proper floating natural islands above cloud layer, only thing I am not sure if possible is if I wanted to have small islands floating above and have normal biome below. Unless I made it really complicated with isles within a biome and then setting that up so they are floating over water or something.
If you have every played terraria that is what Im trying to do make floating islands over normal land so that you can climb up to the heavens and have skylands merged into a normal world.
I am going to overhaul my mworld anyway so that all the heights can be higher for all terrain so that extreme hills are like skyrim hills that have huge waterfalls and caverns inside the mountain as we will have room for that with a mountain as high as 1.2 will let us make it and forests are a little bit more random in height and fractured more. Essentialy all the things I think could have been improved in my current world I will fix and try and out do it with a new biome or 2, PS I love your volcano bo2 that is going to look nice on my mushroomblock surfaced wasteland biome that has all water converted to lava :).
EDIT Is there a better tool available yet for bo2 making or are we still stuck with that clumsy simple one that lacks proper 3d view ?

Hi,
there is no "rate", just freely and gladly given donations...;-)
If someone wasted countless hours before and ... multiple fails to get what he or she wants, the final way is:
1. Send me the wishes regarding the map by Email and ...tell me too what it´s worth for You. (...low doubble-digit euro value is average)
2. If we get an agreement, I create the configs, test it and send some screenshots by Email. I also tell what I can´t do ... and promise only what is tested working.
3. If changes to the configs / map are necessary, it will be done after getting the screens.
4. If everything is okay, the "client" donates and as soon as I get the confirmation from PayPal, I send the configs + bo2´s as a zip-folder to him by Email.
... and I´ve never forgotten someone after it has been finished so far.
That´s it.
I can´t get everything created, but in the last weeks in most times ;-)
... and always think about, that You support Khoorn by 50% with every donation I will get...this separate point should be worth the whole thing, or not?
If I spent my time, I want to get the feeling not to be fooled by someone who may be is only to "lacy" to learn and / or read ... You understand for sure.
So it came out, that a donation is always a good sign, if someone takes it serious.
I think, everybody will understand this and agree.
This has been to read by the way at my website from the beginnig on and very clear.
Sidekick ... I´ve seen some server-owner, selling a simple chicken in game for 1.-$ to their players ... or give some kind VIP Status for + 10.- $ ... may be that is usual but ... :-O
These guys have definitely to pay, for sure ... or to do it themself ;-)) .. and they have been glad about it in the past.
