Tekkit Restrict
Tekkit Restrict (requires Tekkit Classic)
"My initial opinion of having my own server was that players would get along. Boy, was I wrong. Only 2 days after my server's release, I already had 7 players who duped Gem Armor and blew up spawn about a trillion times. After setting gem armor to a certain rank, they then torched my spawn. After disabling most of EE until a certain playtime rank, they then found their own way around my disabling plugin. (noitem)
Then I decided to make Tekkit Restrict..." - DreadSlicer

Metrics
Tekkit Restrict uses Hidendra's plugin metrics system, and as of version 1.18 also uses TMetrics by Taeir. This means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org and metrics.taico.nl:
- A unique identifier
- The server's Java version
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The minecraft version of the server
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The amount of CPU cores
- The amount of memory allocated to your server
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
If you wish to disable Metrics, you can do so by opt-ing out, which you can do in the Metrics config file under /plugins/PluginMetrics/
You can disable TMetrics in the General.config.yml file under /plugins/TekkitRestrict/
Auto-updater
Tekkit Restrict has a built-in auto-updater, which connects to BukkitDev to check for updates. If you want to change or disable this behaviour, you can change the update settings in the General.config.yml file.

That does sound seriously impressive!
I'm not sure about the legal stuff either, but as they are pretty old mods and the Technic guys didn't have permission to distribute them in the first place I can't see it being a problem, maybe you should credit the original mod authors in some way though?

Thank you! I'm just not sure about the legal stuff. Am I allowed to publish modified files of copyrighted mods?

I'm currently working on a pack of fixes/additions for Tekkit Classic. It will contain some fixes already out there as well as some of my own fixes and additions which include:

It's a simple drag and drop fix for NEI, here you go:
NEI Force Creative Fix
The zip file contains a text document written by the guy that created the modified version of Oil Derrick along with the replacement patched files and instructions on how to use them. Tried and tested on my own server :)
I also use Tekkit Restricts limited creative to prevent the use of every item / block for anyone except Admin, even without the above fix it means everything they spawn turns to dirt, before I got hold of the fix I had several people using that client rage quit when they realised that they had creative but it was pointless. XD

Nope, still acts in the same way.
I had a feeling that might be the case, that new version of eepatch sounds excellent though, the black hole band has been banned up until now anyway so we can wait a bit longer :)
OneTrueLegend is right in that OpenAlc isn't working, but if you drop the separate OpenAlc plugin into your plugins folder as well (http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/openalc/files/5-open-alc-v1-3/) it works fine so that's a good workaround for now.

Try putting "right air block" to block rightclicking into the air as well as on a block.
Changing the range at which it blocks is not possible without modifying equivalent exchange directly, but I am working on a new version of eepatch where (in combination with tekkitrestrict) you can block actions of ee tools. (every action, even the release, charge, passive effect, active effect, etc.).

Posted Jul 21, 2013Ah ok, cool. Thanks for responding to the ticket so fast, you're right it does just seem to be location, I hadn't re-logged after running /deop and worldguard was still treating me as op. The message change is definitely a very good idea and will make it a lot clearer.
One other thing, I was contemplating unbanning the Black Hole Band but with right-click disabled earlier and found a problem, I'm not sure if it's something fixable by this plugin though so didn't create a ticket.
Basically if you right click a block close to you the normal 'disabled' message appears and the action is blocked, however if you hover just above the liquids surface and right click on a block a bit further away the message doesn't appear and the action is completed (i.e. the water/lava is removed). I couldn't recreate this with tools and didn't have time to test with other bands/amulets but it seems to be related to the fact that the band has a slightly larger click range than tools do. Is it possible for the range of disabled clicks to be increased in a future version?
Thanks for keeping such a great plugin alive :)

Yeah, there were some files included for the config gui, but as this isn't implemented yet, I decided to leave them out.

Posted Jul 17, 2013Nice work, I'll be fully testing this over the next few days and hoping to have it on my live server in about a week, I noticed the plugin has shrunk in size by almost 50%, are you sure you didn't miss anything out? lol

Posted Jul 14, 2013I have just uploaded the TekkitRestrict 1.15 Release version and it's now awaiting aproval.
I wanted to get this version out there before I go on vacation next week.
This version has completely changed config files, so unfortunately your old config files will be replaced (they should be backed up automatically). Luckily, the new config files should be self-explanatory, as I have added alot of information about each config option, so it should not take long to set it up.
As always, please report any bugs you find.
Enjoy the new version :-)

Maybe you are searching for complete words only?
It should be in the hack.config.yml, under Anti-Dupes at the very bottom.
If it is not, you are looking in an old config file. Delete the file and let tekkitrestrict make a new one.

There will be new versions. I have looked into what tekkitrestrict has to do in tekkit: a new frontier, and its mostly the banned items, banned interacts and the limiter. I have already made a bukkit version that works with vanillabukkit, tekkit lite, tekkit a new frontier and ftb. I'm not done though and currently the only way to ban items and interacts is with permissions.
Unfortunately i'm quite busy at the moment so I don't have much time to work on it.

Yes, I decided not to put more effort onto this project because supporting the latest version will take a very long time.
I have spent the past few months making a game using opengl, in which I have learned more than I have working on this plugin... sadly.
Luckily, CraftBukkit is a very strong project and combined with MCPC, you should still be able to get around a lot of kinks. Sadly to port it, some functionality such as the max EE item charge will no longer be supported. Not that anybody really cared about that lol. To fix all of the bugs, restarting the game server over and over again... most people don't appreciate the amount of work that goes into a plugin like this. The number of lines of code does not matter, for almost every single line of code, I had restarted the server. That turns to be around 1200- 2500 server restarts to get TR to 1.14. Every mod developer has it hard because they have to restart the minecraft client around 2500+ times to make a decent mod... The client takes much longer to restart.
I wish people would look at the backend and see how much of a revolution this plugin was in it's prime. It's interresting that 200 servers still use it...
