Tasks
Tasks
Description
Tasks is a plugin which allows players to get simple tasks to earn money and/or items. A player can get a task by right-clicking on a task sign. When a player gets a task, they will be given a task note, which will contain information on the task to be done, the progress and the rewards. When the task is completed, the player has to turn it in at a task finish sign. Alternatively, the task may be cancelled, but the player will be charged a cancellation fee.

Posted Feb 13, 2014Is there a way to add a limit on how many times you can repeat a certain task?

Posted Jan 26, 2014True. I was looking at it in a form of being offline and getting resources. Yeah never mind the stock idea lol. I like it as tasks, not a store. I'll think of things.

But why have a task to gather resources, when you could just sell some of your own stock to a player? If I were to implement such a feature, where the gathered resources are kept in the world and rewards are taken from someones wallet, how would Tasks be different from a shop plugin?

Posted Jan 24, 2014Thought of another thing, that may take a lot of configuration and I don't want you to over-size your work load, but say some towns need resources and choose to have their own specific task boards that they make task signs for, such as gathering wood because they need a lot of it to make new houses, then later when someone completes the "gathering wood" task, that wood will be deposited into a chest (that could be linked with a command or maybe as long as its next to the sign or something) and the money is taken from the sign creators /money account and deposited into the task holders after completion.

Posted Jan 23, 2014Everything checks out so far. Future configuration (which I am sure you are already thinking about these) should have more mobs, customizable amounts of money per job, (for example, have a config option where if any task is to get oak wood, that job would only pay 2 gold per oak wood no matter the amount you must get, and if your task is to get cobble it will only pay 1 gold per cobble- just an idea) customizable rewards (item wise) and I think hunting signs would be cool. Things you have to kill like bats, wolves, squid. Maybe even set to where you have to use a bow or something of the sort.
[Tasks] [example] I will throw ideas out there for you. Hunting simple money
