Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

What's new?
Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

I can't speak for Mojang, but I personally don't see TARDIS as an admin only plugin, restricted feature set / advantage / disadvantage or not. It would only take one disgruntled player who finds that they don't have access to it to throw a spanner in the works. Regardless of a player being an admin, TARDIS does affect gameplay (though it does have some cosmetic attributes) and therefore must be available to all players.

I very much understand that. But is restriction for admins still in the realm of "okay"? After all, I could limit what TARDIS could do so they use it for travel/temp storage of admin stuffs...keeping all gm1 acquired stuff apart from the rest of the interactive world, etc. My main goal is to keep the main play-worlds in their own play-style, while offering players different styles depending on world they choose. Along with PVP arenas, etc. TARDIS wouldn't, in this case, be a distinct advantage for admins, as there wouldn't be much they could do.
See at this point I'm not talking about making money, I'm asking if it's okay to restrict TARDIS to admins only, so that regular players could use the VM as the way they travel. Technically the "features" of the TARDIS are built into the VM, so it's still within the EULA, but I don't know if you or Mojang would see it that way, see?

There are grey areas, and if it weren't for a bunch of greedy people out there who exploited the (even more) relaxed nature of the original EULA. This whole discussion would probably be moot.

Yep, as stated in the change log, you need an updated build of CraftBukkit/Spigot as they have added new API...

Thanks for those links. It doesn't seem to cover admin specific things, but I'm assuming it's possible to keep admin specific plugins separate without having to offer them to everyone.
This is yet another grey area, as my original intent was to give TARDIS only to admins/moderators as a fancy way of getting around (completely over the top way to /tp but you know...themes and all...gives the kids something to gawk at and talk about). But at the same time the admin/mods could allow players to be companions as well, to bring them about to different place, etc. Pretty much a little glimpse into admin world, which isn't a restriction so much as it is a position with me personally, as anyone technically could become admins, if they play the game right...and at this stage "the game" isn't referring to Minecraft, see?

Posted Dec 19, 2014Just an FYI, but I recompiled Spigot with buildtools #17 and all of my Tardis functionality appears to be working now! :) The condenser had stopped working with either #14 or #15...then started working with the new Tardis Beta, however, travel and the remote decided to break until I updated Built 17 - seems to be the lucky number (at least for me) :)
Cheers and bang up job! (in my best Americanized British accent)

but it is out of date... thatsnotacreeper.com has a nice setup at spawn where you can view the interiors of all the different TARDIS consoles-

Posted Dec 19, 2014Im having a problem... TARDIS plugin is having a fit
my tardis(twelfth that I take pride in) is GREAT!
the only problem is that sometimes I can grow rooms then it throws a hissy fit and I can't because "TARDIS wasn't created in own world" or something like that! It sometimes works and it sometimes doesn't... no matter how many times I delete and start again and redo all the create world false default world config stuff... It just doesn't work... I'm using a default world to save memory

Don't know if you have read these:
@Squawkers13
Roracle is not trying to avoid the EULA, just trying to understand what it actually means so that he can implement his server (when it goes public) without breaking the agreement - reading the EULA (https://account.mojang.com/documents/minecraft_eula) does not explicitly detail the extent to which servers must comply. The links above help to clarify it further.
Let's keep the discussion, just that - a discussion, and leave any accusations behind eh?

Don't sell gameplay-changing things. That's what it says, so why don't you follow it?

What I'm trying to do is create a server within the limitations and you act as though the words of the EULA are magical and cover every.single.thing. that could ever occur. Sadly that isn't the case in reality, which is why I'm asking about particulars.
Mojang obviously wants people to enjoy the game, they also want people to extend it and add on to it. Says so in the EULA. All I've done is address what I and anyone who can comprehensively read would normally address if discussing it with, say, Notch himself. However, it isn't Notch in this case and therefore non-Notch reserves the right to throw accusation and lambaste? If I weren't being accused of illegal action I wasn't taking I wouldn't make such an issue of this. Sadly you have turned this into a situation where I need to defend my words.

You're trying to avoid the EULA. Don't. It's now worth the effort.

First, you should ask the proper questions. I don't even have it advertised, it's not even fully operational, things aren't fully in place, and very few people know its address.
Now if everyone could please stop jumping to conclusions that would be nice.
I guess everyone missed the part about how I'm asking and not just throwing myself in there? Too bad we can't report people for being presumptuous. Is it too much to ask people to take into scope a concept without accusation?
I mean, if we go by what you said yourself, then one could presume you have a server and are charging for things you shouldn't be, and are thus in violation and should be reported yourself. Do not mess with me on this, I'm making inquiries so I do not come into violation, which you would have known if you had read what I was saying to begin with.

A lawyer would dash your statements into little bits. There is a "report for EULA violation" form somewhere, and I will look your server up if I have to.

Just about every major server I've played on gives distinct advantages because people donate or keep playing, giving the server some kind of user value (like social media sites, less users makes it less relevant).
This isn't "gameplay advantages", as many of them require if you have creative, you can only use it in creative worlds, etc. Feed, fly, heal...that's standard "VIP access" for almost every server I've played on (well, ones that are around for a while).
I'm not twisting anything around about the EULA, and my statement about jail and courts were for the purpose of "asking this question isn't ignorant since people don't ask the right questions and end up in jail waiting for a court date so they can have Acme Inc and the State tell them what they could have learned by simply asking.
And no I'm not saying that "if everyone does it that makes it okay" I'm saying everyone does it and no one has done anything about it yet, which makes people think it's NOT against the EULA naturally. That's like being raised around thieves, then making a theft on your own, and it doesn't seem right when you get "caught" or whatever.
Now taking a look at the EULA, it says no mod or plugin can be used to make money, but if you read before that it is only regarding plugins YOU (the user) make. Ergo, they aren't covering any other person's plugins. It's THESE sorts of things guys like me catch that guys like you wouldn't, see?
What you said regarding "giving advantage over other players" or whatever, is not mentioned at all in the EULA, and if it is then I can't find it (and would like you to point it out).
Bottom line, after reading (all other servers aside) there is a way to make money off plugins, and though we know what constitutes a plugin, Mojang has final say on if it is or isn't a plugin. We're in legal jargon now, so "tree" isn't so much a trunk with leaves if the legal definition says otherwise. Therefore, a normal layman's plugin may not be seen as such by Mojang. So to make money off a plugin, you can only do so in a time where it's simply an "extension for your server" and possibly by the EULA even if it integrates with your system directly, it would be no use to Mojang ergo not a plugin/mod. DynMap is a good example.

Yeah, just a little bit more. You need to know how to setup a bukkit server and how to do permissions. Google is your friend and will surely lead you to the light.
