Downloads
I'm too lazy to upload TARDIS files to Bukkit anymore, as builds are automatically created when the plugin is updated and changes pushed to GitHub.
Version specific downloads can be found here: https://tardis.pages.dev/download
Please make sure you are using the latest Spigot/Paper builds (for the Minecraft version you are running) before installing TARDIS or creating an issue!
What it does
TARDIS is a plugin that gives you the ability to create a Police Box that lets you time travel (teleport) to random locations. It adds a Whovian twist to the typical /sethome and /home commands.
As a player, you can:
- Create a TARDIS that is bigger on the inside.
- Time travel to a random location.
- Time travel back home (where you created the TARDIS initially).
- Save and list interesting time travel locations, so you can return to them easily.
- Take companions with you when you time travel.
- Make your TARDIS blend in with the Chameleon Circuit.
- Use your own schematic to build the TARDIS interior
- Grow new TARDIS rooms
- Use Artron Energy
- Remote control the TARDIS
- Custom TARDIS sounds with companion Resource Pack
- Custom TARDIS textures with companion Resource Pack

Installation
As a minimum, just drop the TARDIS.jar, TARDISChunkGenerator.jar (look under Additional Files on the download page) and any optional plugins listed below into the Bukkit plugins folder and start your server. For more detailed instructions see: https://tardis.pages.dev/installation-v5
Optional installs
These are not needed for TARDIS to function, but enhance the plugin with extra features...
- Install the TARDIS-SoundResourcePack in the Minecraft client to hear custom TARDIS sounds
- Install the TARDIS-Resource-Pack to see aal the fancy textures and models (requires TARDIS v4.2 or higher).
- Install the TARDISChunkGenerator plugin so that you can generate TARDISes in their own self-contained world (included on the TARDIS plugin download page under Additional files).
- Install WorldGuard to automatically protect your TARDIS from griefing, and stop mobs spawning in TARDIS worlds.
- Install TARDISWeepingAngels to add some Whovian mobs to the game.
- Install a Permissions plugin, so that you can restrict or grant players the rights to use TARDIS’ different features. We like PermissionsBukkit.

Bugs / Requests
Please post a ticket for TARDIS plugin requests and bugs, thank you :)
WARNING: I am no longer prepared to waste my time looking at incomplete tickets. If your ticket does not follow the guidelines set out below, it will be deleted immediately!
Make sure you have read the FAQs first, as your question may already be answered there. Also make sure you have searched for a previous ticket with the same/similar issue (use the Filters to search closed tickets).
If you are going to create a BUG ticket you need to supply relevant information (as I'm not a mind reader, nor do I have access to your server...) - as a minimum you need:
- Exact CraftBukkit version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - Exact TARDIS version i.e. NOT 'the latest' - use the
/tardis versioncommand if possible, otherwise copy from server log - The server log showing the entire error (as a paste or at Pastebin - NOT a screenshot) - this should be the log from when the server starts up right through to when the error occurs
- If no error in the log, then a video of the bug happening or the EXACT steps needed to reproduce the issue.
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/config.yml file or other configuration file if relevant
- Attach your plugins/TARDIS/TARDIS.db file if relevant
- List of other plugins on server
Stats
Basic statistics are collected for some versions of the TARDIS plugin (v2.5.8 and earlier). You can opt out at any time by setting opt-out: true in plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml
External web access
Version 2.8 (and higher) of this plugin includes a translation feature (the /tardissay command) that connects to the Lingva translation service.
You can prevent players from using the command by removing / not giving them the permission tardis.translate

Just to note, I have added a new command:
/tardisadmin make_preset [name]which will allow you to scan a 3 x 3 x 4 cuboid of blocks (plus the 10th column) to automatically generate a custom_preset_[name].txt file for use with the custom preset slot. Will save having to look up id and data for each block, and should make the whole process a lot easier :)Look for it in the next build...

I'm using BukkitForge, so it's a server mod too.

If it's not on the list, it can't be a key
Though I do remember being able to use the Sonic Screwdriver from Tekkit Classic as the TARDIS key... but that's because it was probably a server mod, not a client mod

Posted Nov 27, 2013I'm trying to set a Mod item as my TARDIS key. When I right click on the door with the item it says "The TARDIS key is a STICK. You have a X31991 in your hand!
I use /tardisadmin key X31991
[TARDIS] That is not a valid Material! Try checking http://jd.bukkit.org/apidocs/org/bukkit/Material.html
How do I set the mod item as the key?

Suggest you look at TARDIS areas... http://eccentricdevotion.github.io/TARDIS/tardis-areas.html - you can already restrict locations
The TARDIS resource pack will be updated when the Minecraft API allows us to add new blocks.

Posted Nov 27, 2013Could you do it so that there is a command that doesn't let you land in the place unless you add it back in. So say you didn't want anyone going there in the tardis you could put
/tardisadmin location (coordinates) disabled and if you wanted to put the destination back in you would put /tardisadmin location (coordinates) enabled.
If you could that would be really cool and also could you make a resource pack so that when you are flying in the tardis and you open the door it will let you and you will be able to see the time vortex.
If you could do that this would be the best plugin ever by far
Thanks so much

No detailed instructions yet... but kind of a self-documenting file
Basically you can think of a preset as 10 columns of 4 blocks:
Each column starts at the bottom and goes up 4 blocks.
When you look at the custom_preset.txt file you will see 6 JSON arrays of data (and some comment lines), something like:
One column looks like this:
[35,35,35,44]Reading that data, you can see that we have the IDs for
[wool,wool,wool,stone_slab]and this is #1 in the little column diagram up above, or the first corner of the NEW Police Box preset. The rest follows on from there, with the second array of data being the data value associated with the block id in the array above it.
Then we repeat the the process for the ICE and GLASS components of the preset (used for materialisation)
Finally, you can set the text on the sign (if you choose to have one)

I haven't had a chance to test yet, and it won't work with default settings to be sure, plus most of the new features won't work either as they rely on Bukkit API and blocks that are not available in MC 1.2.5 - but that's progress for you...
Will see what can be done for the final 2.6 release (it depends on what Bukkit 1.7 brings us), but for v2.7 I'm going to blitz support for older versions all together - it complicates the code and is too hard to maintain.

Passages are all now 'long crosses' - all rooms are 1 chunk square (16 x 16) so there is no need for different sized passages any more.

Okay, thanks that worked. BTW what happened to the passage and long passage rooms? The passage room turned into the cross room and the passage long doesn't exist. Is there no way to make a long corridor now?
