SpoutItems
SpoutItems will let you change an item's name and icon using spout. This could be usefull for RP servers and such, you could for example change the icon and name of Melon Vines to something like marijuana.

Doesn't work for weapons, tried erplacing iron sword, as soon as it hits, returns back to iron sword

I'm glad that these four lines of code are of use to you :) And for the custom blocks/paintings, I don't think you can modify individual blocks yet. (correct me if I'm wrong)

anyway, i was wondering if this can be used for blocks or paintings. I would like to be able to place my custom pictures but im guessing this only works for non placeable items?

Posted Oct 1, 2011I'm having this problem too. In my inventory, the item just looks like a mini version of all of the items in a png. I can see it fine when its in game and I'm holding it though.

The file you set in the config will be displayed, so you should link to a square image file.
