Solar Apocalypse
SOLAR APOCALYPSE!
The worlds rotation is slowing, We must move underground to Survive!
Solar Apocalypse is a survival game, to make mine craft even harder! The mod destroys all plant and animal life on the surface over a span of 4 days. Players are forced to move underground and try to survive as long as they can.
Mod Features
Natural looking Destruction and Regrowth
- World Changes to a fiery or frozen wasteland.
- All exposed plant life dies off.
- Biomes Change to desert during the day and tundra at night.
- The world can be slowly restored with the regrow system a few blocks at a time.
Day GamePlay Mechanics
- Lava balls fall from the sky
- Anything exposed to Sun Light will burst into flames.
- Colored glass can protect from the suns death rays.
Night GamePlay Mechanics
- Players and Animals take cold damage when away from heat sources (lights) even under ground!
- Full Leather armor can keep players warm underground, but not outside.
- Players can see there breath when they are getting too far from the light.
- Snow Piles up to form huge drifts.
- Super lighting storms strike without warning.
Time Control
- The time length of Day, Night and Dusk/Dawn can be independently increased, decreased or skipped entirely.
- Players can right click a clock for info about whats going on and how much time is left.
Mulit-World Support
- You can destroy as many worlds as you like in many different ways.
- Destruction pauses if no players are in the world
Fully Customizable World Config
- Each world can have its own config separate config file.
- Plugin config file.
- The World's Config File can be modified for new types of gameplay.
- Share your Config files on the forums!
Basic Commands
- /apocadmin -plugins help
- /apocadmin [worldName] Start - Starts Solar Apocalypse on [worldName]
- /apocadmin [worldName] Stop - Stops Solar Apocalypse

How To Install and run
- Download the plugin
- Place the .jar file in your plugins directory.
- Run the server.
- To start a game type "/ApocAdmin world start" where world is the name of the world you want to destroy!
- Enjoy the game!
- type "/ApocAdmin world stop" to stop.

Posted Oct 11, 2012@madsod I want to destroy the surface mobs to cause more to spawn underground, to make it harder. but ill stick an option in there for you.
if you want harder, Im planing and add-on mod that causes torches to burnout after a day. >:-)

Heres my current timeline. I'm working on Parallel Worlds, it can create a world and transfer players to it. I'll have the death counter and reset stuff working today, I can possibly have a download ready for testing by tomorrow. Im going to copy the Parallel Worlds code and start a new SolarApoc using Parallel Worlds as the base of the code. then ill start copying code for the old version and making changes. if all goes smoothly i hope to have a working copy before the end of the month.

Posted Oct 5, 2012@PumasCast I'm currently reworking the whole mod. the in the next version the world can reset back to green and the counters will reset also.
I have no eta when, but I hope to have it done before the spook update.

No, I am talking about the doom clock, I have the map figured out and ready to go. I am just concerned about that fact that the doom clock has no command to reset it. The day always starts from day 3 after you reset the map.

Posted Oct 3, 2012Im thinking of breaking the mod into smaller mods that work together, that way the admins can pick and choose the parts they like.
Names may change.
Parallel_Worlds will control the world resetting and life counters.
day/night control handles the day night cycles and if its always day or night.
Cold Nights handles all the night effects.
Hot days handles all the day effects.
Impeding darkness New add-on idea, torches burnout after a day makes cold nights even harder.

to reset the world back to a green fresh new world, yes extremely hard.
I'm working on the idea of 2 parallel worlds apoc1/apoc2. Mod starts players are teleported to apoc1 after X amount of deaths players are transferred to apoc2 There inventories are reset and back to square 1. apoc1 is deleted and rebuilt with a new random key. then the process repeats.
The end and nether need to be reset also.
So far i cant figure out how to delete or create new worlds. I know its possible with multi-world servers but i cant seem to get it working.
Currently the code is getting cleaned up by vsams14 and when he's done ill start updating again.

I'm not sure but try setting MultiplierStep: 0 and /Apoc Start
That should let the other mod take over the day and night cycle.
If the doom clock is not advancing then set it manually in the config file.
The temperature effect goes by time of day so it should work. snowgro is also a cool mod it makes snow pile up.

Posted Sep 25, 2012@4_KiNGS I can do the finite water but you would be totally screwed if you didn't get some water before its all gone, i'll add the option for you. I don't think I can do a thirst bar but with a server mod alone but we will see what the official mod tools come with.
I was thinking about making torches burn out after a few days. }:-)

Posted Sep 22, 2012You should make it so that it is impossible to create infinite water. For example all water in the game becomes finite like the finite water mod. Then you should make it so that players need to drink water every now and then like a thirst bar to survive. Players would have to search for underground water to survive then. You could over time add these features in and also make it so that there can be certain things that you can edit in the config also.

Do they have a block ID number? if so just add the number to the list.
